is there a word for visual media in-jokes like the wilhelm scream and the red-tailed hawk call and the akira slide that show up everywhere but aren’t meant as an in-universe reference? (as opposed to stuff like parodying “here’s johnny” which is usually done with a nod and a wink and is explicitly a reference to the shining, these are just used wholesale)
