Bill the Bastard.
So, I’ve been gone for a long time. Where have I been? I’ve spent the past year writing a history thesis on Australian warhorses in the Great War. In 10 days my thesis is due, and I’ll write more about it. But the last six months have been pretty hectic. My research has taken me to Canberra on many occasions (about a 3 hour drive), and in the last few months, I’ve written 18 000 words. It’s crazy.
And I love it.
So much, that I’m applying for a PhD. That is terrifying and crazy, and I have no idea whether or not I’ll get in. But it’s taken me a long time to admit that I want it.
So updates. Honestly, it’s hard to think of anything but my thesis due date in 10 days time. But in all honesty, there’s been so much more. I’ve bonded with new friends, pushed myself further than I thought I could go, and my relationship is amazing. Who would have thought that a 11 day trip to Europe would spark a secure and passionate relationship that would last a year and a half, and still going strong?
Sometimes life can hit you hard, and everything can go wrong. It’s always a possibility. You just have to be strong enough to believe that maybe, just maybe, something will work and be lasting.
