Music Sounds Better with You.
[ A quick fanfic with my Stranger Things OC, Rebecca Harding, and Billy Hargrove cause lord knows I love this boy more than anything. ;) If you’d like to leave a comment or give me suggestions on how to make my writing better, feel free to do so! <3 ] ➳ Oh, how she wished she was in California again, riding beside Billy in his blue Camaro, right where they both belonged. Hawkins was a cute place, and she made plenty of friends, but nothing compared to their sunny California. It was warm, it was fun, and most importantly.. It was 𝙝𝙤𝙢𝙚.
“Hey, Becca. 𝘽𝙚𝙘𝙘𝙖. ” His voice snapped her back into reality, moving slightly to look at him. “ Sorry, babe. I was-” “Spacing out again, I know.” His lips were curled up into a smirk, and she couldn’t help but lean in and press her own onto his cheek. She still couldn’t believe they’d been together for nearly five years now. Growing up with him, she never would have thought she’d fallen for him, let alone fallen as strongly as she had.
“Y’know, it’s adorable and all, but you really gotta pay more attention to me, sweetheart.” “Mhm, or you could let me keep daydreaming about you and how lucky I am to have you, Hargrove.” His face lit up, and her heart nearly melted at that damn, perfect smile. “Keep daydreaming and I’ll have no choice but to kiss you.” He was still smiling, and she shook her head before leaning close again, her arms wrapping around his neck. “Is that a threat?” “Mmm..” He gave her a little peck, her lips curling up in a smile before his arm gently wrapped around her waist. “No, it’s a promise, Harding.” “Oooh, using my last name now, huh? Sexy.” “Becca, we’re gonna be late if you keep distracting me like this.” “Right, right..” She huffed softly, squirming in her seat and pressing her back against it. “Do we 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 to go? I don’t like Kenny and I don’t like his stupid parties.” He’d already started to drive, shaking his head with a chuckle. “I did promise. And you know I always keep my promises. Besides, it’s good for you to get out of the house once in awhile.” She’d turned on the radio while he spoke, humming softly to the music and glancing at him from time to time. “I guess so.. But we aren’t gonna stay long, right? You know I’ve got to study.” “We won’t stay long. Promise. And relax a little, you’re acting like it’s the end of the world.” “It should be..” She mumbled softly, although her eyes brightened up a little at the song that had started playing, leaning over to raise the volume. “Jesus- Madonna? Really? You’re playing Madonna in MY car?” She was too busy softly singing along to the music, grinning at him and nudging him softly with her elbow. “Some boys kiss me, some boys hug me, I think they’re okaaaay~” “Becca-” “If they don’t give me proper credit, I just walk away-ay~” He groaned, shaking his head and focusing on the road. “They can beg and they can plead, but they can’t see the light..” “Becca, 𝙥𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙚.” “ ‘Cause the boy with the cold hard cash is always Mister Right.” “𝘽𝙚𝙘𝙘𝙖.” “ ‘Cause we are living in a material world, and I am a material girl. You know that we are living in a material world, and I am a material girl~.” “I swear to god..” She giggled softly, gently moving a strand of her hair behind her ear and innocently batting her eyelashes at him. “Come on, you know you love it.” “Finally, we’re here.” He parked, shutting off the engine and the song along with it, getting out of the car with a sigh. “Sorry.. I forgot you hate anything that isn’t rock.” She followed suit, shutting the door behind her and walking up the driveway, moving past him. She really didn’t mean to get upset, but it had happened anyway and she was trying to make the best of the situation. “Becca, listen.. I guess.. The music sounds better with you. I know sometimes I can be a bummer, but.. I’m learning, okay? I’m sorry. Don’t be upset with me, baby. Come on..” His arm was around her waist, and he gently lifted her chin. “Please? Don’t let my being an idiot sour your mood?” “..Okay.” She smiled brightly, in the end she could never really be upset with him. “I love you, you know that, right?” “I know. I love you, too.” They shared a kiss before heading inside, closing the door behind them.
