I know that after the calamity Link and Zelda don’t really catch a break, but I like to believe that the times between BotW and Bo2W is at least long enough for Link to start up a little home hobby farm back in Hateno where he raises Cucoos, rabbits and horses. He lives a very quiet life and allows himself to be free of the stress of the calamity and the burden he carried for so long. He mounts the Master Sword on the wall, he doesn’t need it anymore, he’s safe. He asks if Zelda wants to come with him and he doesn’t mind if she says no, he’s used to being alone. He’s over joyed though when she accepts. They settle into an easy, simple life. Link builds a small chicken coop and a rabbit hutch, he fixes up the stable on the side of the house, Zelda paints them. She starts a veggie garden in the free space in the backyard. They cook with their own home grown veggies, home raised meats. Link butchers, although he doesn’t like to, and he collects the eggs every morning. Zelda takes up knitting, she knits Link sweaters for the colder seasons. Overall they live this nice, quiet life until the call of adventure draws them again. I just want some domesticity for my wild boy. He deserves it.

BotW Misc. Link Head Canons 2

Link cannot read or write, being a commoner he didn’t have the luxury of learning such things

In his rare spare time he wittles wood, often carving shapes of animals he’s encountered on their adventures

He loves swimming, when given the chance he will jump in the pond

Link isn’t a great swimmer, Mipha tried to teach him but he’s a bad learner

Link isn’t very intelligent, he’s smart street wise but otherwise not so much. The only things he’s proficient in is fighting

He’s a klutz, despite how trained he is in fighting, often he trips over himself

He loves animals, but he’s more of a dog person

His table manners could be better (ei, chewing with mouth open, forgoing the use of cutlery and belching without excusing himself after a hearty meal)

Link keeps his hair long because it reminds him of when his sister would braid his hair, Link doesn’t know how to braid hair

He asks Zelda to braid his hair, though he never tells her why he likes braids

When his hair gets too long he uses the master sword to cut it, his layers and jagged edges are “artful”

Link’s favourite color is green, because it reminds him of Zelda’s beautiful eyes
