Callie was born to a Honduran diplomatic business man father. Her mother died when she was really young. So young in fact that she has to go off of memories of others and picture to trigger ones of her own. She likes to think the fact that she didn’t have a mother or feminine figure in her life really for her not being that into girly things or “woman-y”. Her older sister, Aria, is the total opposite. She considers herself a total freak at heart.
Growing up, Callie didn’t want for nothing. She was monetarily privileged. She’d never deny that fact. She was home-schooled with a private tutor from kindergarten through seventh grade and then she went to an all girls private boarding school. It was there where she discovered her love for women. A fact that her sheltered self completely hadn’t expected and kept hidden and separate from her “home” life and especially her dad. At home with her father she would get on her knees at the alter at church, at school she’d get on her knees for a whole different reason.
After having enough of her father’s smothering nature she applied for a university on the complete opposite end of the country and took a year leave of absence to join the Peace Corp. Through them she was stationed in Botswana and there in between building houses, she was kind of shuffled in to being second hand to a volunteering doctor. Through him she gained a love of medicine and helping people less fortunate than her. She changed her major as soon as she returned from Botswana.
After receiving her undergrad and masters in under five years she turned to an online doctorate program and wanted to start working - start helping people. She chose Andromeda because it was on the water, like her home town, she’d been there a couple of times as a kid for vacation and loved the vibes it gave off.
