At the time I was making some critical life decisions I was probably 22-24years old … One of the #motivating factors why I chose the profession of hair styling over #medicine ( my fathers dream for me ) or pursuing a career with my #biologydegree was I looked back to my childhood days and remembered how doing my own hair at the age of 9years I had a #peace and #satisfaction that remain unexplainable.#aftercollege the question was what do I do with a biology degree that I know clearly I won’t enjoy a career in…young and free spirited as I am I started this prayer about enquiring from God about a career choice at this time I was 25 yrs old and living in the #U.S. just braiding family members while waiting for my #usresidency to be processed. Every time I prayed and wanted to follow a medical inclined career I will always get this disturbance inside of me . I remember hearing God so clearly that if I went that path I will be trapped by money and not purpose and my biggest desire has always been to live out His #purpose. The fear of missing out on Gods best made me rethink those decisions and His peace was my guiding light to pick a career that I may not make a ton of money but I will be excited to wake up on a Monday morning to go to work A challenging journey doing hair and growing 4 salons I look back today at @tabreeca_tuh.bree.suh peaceful experience at the salon and am reminded why I said yes to this calling of doing hair … I wanted to enjoy what I do and share my faith and life’s journey with others in a peaceful atmosphere through hair and of course my peaceful curation of music while having inspiring conversations with our clients.One of the best decisions I made in my entire life is saying yes to God …I will do hair . #myhopes in sharing this story today is that it’s not too late to ask God about your career plans . Your #gifts and #talent mix well in the workplace giving Him Glory . If you have young kids or nieces or nephews begin sowing these seeds into their hearts about praying intentionally about career choices that are lined up with purpose .
