Miami Beach Wall: Image of @_biophile_ ‘s physical model for a new Biophilic public space along Miami Beach which simultaneously protects from storm surges… Miami Beach Wall is a speculative project that imagines a new kind of inhabitable infrastructure. The project is an instance of what could be integral in a city wide solution in protecting Miami from the impact of storm surges and other extreme weather events. The project uses simulation software to generate and explore a topography which relates to the placement of a vegetated, defensive wall structure and the forces of storm surges from the ocean. The result is a secluded, biophilic beach front area that is full of kiosks and shaded respite from the Florida sunshine. Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley have been with me since forever. When I was six years old, my dad gave me this new book he bought at the airport on the way back home, a story of this kid who found out to be a wizard and he had to attend this school of Witchcraft and Wizardry called Hogwarts. At that time, I just started school and I was still learning to read, so my mom read this story to me and my little brother before bedtime. It was love at first sight (or better at first reading )! I was amazed by that charming magical world and with all my heart and I wanted to be a part of. Through these pages, through Harry, Hermione, Ron and all the other characters in all seven books, J.K.Rowling inspired millions of people. She gave people something better, something magical to hold onto, even in the darkest of times. Hogwarts made us all feel part of something special, made us feel at home.

Collecting plants

If I collect anything these days, it’s plants. I have examples of many Araceae and Marantaceae varieties, but I have a soft spot for peperomias. String of turtles is one of my favourites because it evolved in the Cretaceous, when turtles originally evolved. I’m in the process of making little Cretaceous Park terrariums with varieties of peperomias and the odd plastic velociraptor.
