At what point should I consider this abusive?
My boss is very quick on the offense, and the tiniest thing can set her off. One such thing happens to be me asking for my paycheck. If it goes past payday, which is every Friday, and I don’t get my check, I generally keep silent about it because she thinks I’m accusing her of shorting me if I bring it up. Well, I couldn’t let it go by the time Sunday came around because I have only 75 cents left in checking and a little over a fourth of a tank. So I sent her a text last night about it. I was very careful not to sound accusatory. I asked her to please not get the wrong idea, but I kind of need to get paid to keep working through the week because I’m low on fuel. She blew up at me, of course, and she accused me of disrespecting her.
How is it disrespectful to politely request my paycheck so I can put gas in my car? I think I need to just give up on this job. My IBS can’t take anymore abuse from this woman.
