i definitely imagine that BirchFall sees Cody more as a mother then FernCloud (like from the art) because from his POV as a kitten he wouldn’t know about grief,, and then he’d seen his family move on with IceKit and FoxKit,,,,

I also imagine that his relationship with DustPelt has always been pretty rocky. DustPelt was overprotective of him when they got to the lake territories, but distant all the same. They never got to reconnect after FeenClouds death,,,
