Since 2013 we’ve had this @birdgangdance piece at our festival, taken it on tour across the UK, Europe & North America, experimenting & lengthening it from its original 12 minute run. The finished piece will come to @Sadlers_Wells this September and you will *not* want to miss it. Big team on board too with @judgedavid0 rehearsal directing @magero_tbh on text & @maxcyrusmusic on soundtrack. Producing a show that’s gonna be broader than Broadway! Revolving around the inner struggles of ambition, addiction and grief, Vicycle follow’s one man’s pursuit of an ‘ideal’ and the compromises he is willing to make to reach this supposed ideal; whether that be the type of person he wants to become, the social standing he wants to have, or the type of woman he wants to be with...
In its first incarnation, Vice appeared on the Breakin’ Convention stage in 2013 and quickly went down as one of the strongest shows in its history. Since then it has been programmed on Breakin’ Convention’s UK National Tour and first US Tour.
As part of Breakin’ Convention’s long- term vision of supporting, commissioning and producing new hip hop theatre, they have commissioned a three-week period of R&D to develop the existing 11 minute piece.
We are aiming to develop the piece for an Autumn 2017 tour and are looking for partners and co-commissioners. Please contact [email protected] if you are interested in discussing this further.
