Roman laughs in her face and is constantly putting her down. He takes every opportunity to make her squirm and to make her uncomfortable if only to prove the point that she doesn't belong in this world and can't handle it. The longer she sticks around, the more mad he gets. He's upping his game and trying everything to make her squeamish even making her watch him torture people.
"No, no, no, doll. I want you to watch this."
If she's able to stomach it, he cools off. It's a long trial of seeing if she's worth his time or if she's just gonna run at the first sign of trouble. He doesn't have time for half assing.
Once that period is over, he shows her the ropes, the things only people in this business like him would know. And if they happen to get a little closer than that, well, he doesn't mind. He will however try to pry her away from operations as he doesn't need his doll getting into danger or trouble.
