Fear not for thou shalt not find contentment but thou shall have joy
For Jack W Tindle, Happy Birthday x
Your words and breath and mind are
Fires’ spittle flaying darkness
From our eyes in the deep bright
Riches of the night, under
Your step the streets rattle
Morse tellings of your path ahead,
Clinking and chiming promises
Of ascendance, the cobbles
Simmer in anticipation,
Boiling off sweet fumes,
Intoxicating visions
Of all that is possible
And not yet quite in sight, these
Enticements roll in hot waves
Through the quiet, rumbling
Down untaken avenues,
Plundering hopes from pipe-dreams,
Spinning them into glowing
Branches that reach far far out
Into the starry future,
And all of this ripples around
You, oblivious to what
Others can see and tell to
Your unbeleiving ears; you fear
Your hunger not great enough,
You fear that Ordinary might
Swell up over the horizon
And devour you before you’ve
Really even begun. So
You must listen now to the
Universe, vibrating, screaming
Its encouragement, is not
Your courage in the face of
This fear proof enough of your
Eventual victory?
Feel that buzzing under your skin,
‘never enough.’ ‘never content’
Promising to set you free.
You will be brave enough to shine.
