BISHOP TOOK ROSIE’S HAND, eyes settled on hers. She was beautiful, perfect, glowing. He drew in a breath, prepared to say the words he’d longed to for a while.

Bishop shot up out of his bed, a heavy breath as he shook his head. Was that a nightmare, or a dream?

Bishop decided he would walk to work this morning. The sun had been shining warmer than usual, and the past week had been a particularly good one for Bishop. He’d gone on a successful evening a while back with Ellie and it seemed to have lingered with him. He stepped into the coffee shop, ordered a simple black coffee with sugar, and as he waited he peered out the window. He saw Ellie there, a small smile coming to Bishop’s face. But as his name had been called for his coffee his smile was taken away. He saw someone beside her, and that’s when he felt the anger toil inside him. He took his coffee and walked out side, making himself visible to them both. “You’re fucking serious?” he muttered, the foul words being easy for him to spit out. They weren’t dating, or a pair, and really Bishop didn’t know what they were. But right then he wanted nothing to do with her.
