I felt that
What if the reason Newt and Hermann’s first meeting after years of letters went so badly is that it was instantly obvious being in the same space that Hermann was a vampire and Newt was a werewolf. It was partially the age-old vampy-wolfy rivalry, but mostly they were both annoyed with themselves for not figuring out that detail about the other during their pen pal phase.
