Too late for Spring flowers but I was up for a bit of a drive.

Bitterwater is on the Airline highway, about 15 miles east of King city. South to Peachtree road but headed back west to San Lucas and 101.

#Beautiful weekend - listened to my son play music, time with some #special friends, and spent the day in King City - #bitterwater #pinnacles area where I spent some time as a child. The day ended in a trip to the vet but my baby was fine, just a 🦊 tail. "Hydration" garment for the End of Days Exhibtion at Santa Fe Community Gallery Oct 31.2014-Jan 31.2015 Water is Sacred, Water is Life. I created this "Hydration" garment in response to a futuristic environmental scenario where we have to adapt what we wear. This garment has 'hydration packs' and connecting tubes that enables the person to survive in a future world with intense heat waves, severe drought and extremely limited water access. This was a very interesting and personal project for me as I come from the BitterWater Navajo clan and I am also born under the Cancerian Water sign. I understand the sacredness of water and I am so glad I participated in this exhibit so we can keep the conversation going about the environmental impact of our choices. Designer: Consuelo Pascual (Navajo/Mayan) Photographer: Neebinnaukzhik Southall (Chippewas of Rama First Nation) Model: Vilma Ontiveros Twenty-four artists were selected and asked to develop prophetic doomsday statements regarding how the end will come, and then work in their studios to create clothing, accessories, and sculptural elements to address these prophecies.  Rod Lambert explained, “It is important for the City of Santa Fe Arts Commission to address issues related to human impact on the environment”, says Community Gallery Manager, Rod Lambert.  “What better way to create a dialogue about environmental issues related to water and air quality, deforestation, nuclear fallout and disease?  Our intent is to draw attention to these issues through artist statements that examine how our lives could be impacted by our actions.”  The exhibit will feature a variety of media including ceramics, glass, natural materials, paintings, mixed media and fashion.
