Okay so Debria and I have been talking lately and we were both saying how we were pretty disappointed that the previous “People’s Choice Tumblr Awards” that were held during the summer hiatus was never finished. We both thought that it was a really cool idea (and it definitely seemed like others did too) and it was unfortunate that it was never completed since we had a lot of fun participating in it! We thought we would start a new one. We both understand that we can’t participate but we’re just going to enjoy running it and seeing it to the end. So welcome to the “SPN Tumblr Choice Awards!”

Please read this entire post before entering because it’s a lot of info and there are a few rules/regulations that we felt we needed to change so that the contest will run smoothly.

Initial Info

Since we are both mainly Supernatural blogs, this will be a Supernatural contest. We would like all the blogs entering to be mainly Supernatural as well so please have at least 70% SPN

We would like for this to get maybe 100-150 entries at least

We will try to make each category as proportionate as possible

There will be only say 4 rounds depending on the entries so that people are less likely to lose interest

Each round will last about 5 days

There will be a voting process for each round

A lot of this is going to depend on the amount of entries because after the end of each round, we will be knocking off the bottom several blogs who got the least votes instead of just 1-3 of them. By the final round, we would like there to be around 4 or 5 blogs left

At the end of that final round, the remaining 4 blogs will be sorted into 1st – 4th/5th place

So basically that’s 3 elimination rounds and 1 final round

If we get a ton of entries, maybe the final round will have more than 4 blogs each and if that happens, we’ll just use the top 4/5 blogs for the 1st-4th/5th places

We are still a little unsure on whether or not to let each blog be in two categories since we want everyone to have a chance and not have multiple people win multiple categories. This, again, will depend on the amount of entries this gets

We didn’t include a Best Overall because we wanted winners for individual categories. We don’t feel like an Overall winner is necessary or fair. Plus we don’t want to insult anyone by choosing a select few to be considered the “overall best” blogs. If you’re wondering about any other missing categories, message one of us your question and we’ll explain further.  

About Prizes

Neither Debria or I have the means or funds to give out actual monetary prizes. When it comes to something like this, we really feel like this should just be for fun/bragging rights and not about the prizes

We will for sure have buttons for the nominees to put on their blogs during the contest. And the winners will get custom buttons for their category/place if they would like to use them!

And that’s it! If we have any other updates, check our blogs or the awards blog. If you have any questions at all about this, feel free to ask me, Debria or you can send it to the awards blog as well!

If you don’t want to enter this and still want to vote, you can still reblog this post to spread the word! Just put “not entering” or “signal boost” or something like that in the tags. But don’t be afraid to enter! This is all anonymous and people will be going and looking at your blog. It’s not just about popularity, believe me because we were in it the first time. We know for a fact that people with less than 1k followers were advancing last time! And you can always follow the awards blog to keep up with the rounds :)
