I don't believe art theft is a real problem, so I imagine there's no contradiction between "supporting" an artist with nice Thoughts & Prayers and turning a blind eye to the theft of their work.

First up, yes it is annoying and stupid (and useless) but it is how it is you can always UN-follow or block those blogs. Peeps ALWAYS think: online i can DO what ever the F i want because i can do it as an Anonymous peep. Just ignore those peeps, maybe they’ll grow up someday (or they get into real trouble\ online or not, who knows, i don’t care either way)

I just read the DOA doll makers lists and what is considered off topic/banned, and I have to say, with the exception of recasts ((which I can understand both sides of as well as why DOA wouldn't want them on there)) some of their criteria is rather...elitist. I can see why there are a number of people who don't agree with how DOA is run, and that's excluding the forum drama that I don't personally witness since I don't have an account myself.

The hobby isn’t “dying” because the hobby is collecting dolls, not being active online or on social media with your dolls. That’s an aspect of the hobby, but not the whole thing. If people are being less social it’s because the community sucks and is hostile and there’s drama that nobody needs in a hobby meant to be enjoyed. Lots of people are leaving the social aspect and keeping their dolls to themselves and there’s nothing wrong with that.

Criticizing Ringdoll for supporting the Chinese government goes to show how spoiled we in the Western world are. Of course they support the Chinese government. What are they going to do, actively oppose it and get thrown into labor camps? When you live in a country where you can outright mock your political leaders on Twitter and get nothing but maybe a couple trolls, you can't really understand.

After somebody talking shit about me and my bjd's i sold all my recasts (which i never really showed online or talked about them) and now i just own 3 legit dolls. I hope people stop being assh*** to me and leave me alone now. Sry but all those stupid fights are annoying and doesn't help people enjoying the hobby. I deleted all my accounts and maybe, in some month, i can enjoy my 3 remaining dolls online again.

There are two types of people in this hobby. Their true form is revealed when someone asks how they made the cool thing they've shared. One will happily gush about the process, tools, mistakes, lessons learned and want you to join you in this crazy crafting adventure. The other responds with "years of practise" and will not elaborate further as though revealing their secrets will make their creation less special. They're not here to share with plebs like you, they have revealed their work only that you might have the opportunity to worship them.
