It just really hit me the other day with one art featuring characters of a noncontroversial but relatively popular pairing with "please do not tag as ship," and another where I saw the op didn't tag any ship but someone did, and someone else did bc they did, and I didn't really look into it but I'm sure that more people reblogged with ship tag, bandwagon effect and all. No malicious intent was there and I can't speak for op, but it's more so the trend of this happening so often that people feel they have to outright state that they don't want their post tagged as X
