the "first Black person on the moon" ask reminded me of astronaut Mae Jemison; the first Black woman to be on the moon!! she also appeared in an episode of Star Trek!! i bring this up, because she's mentioned how a big inspiration of hers as a child was Nichelle Nichols's role in Star Trek as Lieutenant Uhura.
the first Black person to be in space overall, however, is Guion Bluford. who i'll admit i don't know much off-handed information about. so i'll link his respective wikipedia article, like i did with Mae Jemison.

Mae Jemison was the first Black woman in space, she didn't go to the moon! But thank you for the fun facts, otherwise! I didn't know about Guion Bluford either, which is a shame!
