Song of the Day - November 30, 2017
Nam Taehyun - Take Me Out
[M] Nam Taehyun you have managed to kill me again. When I was scrolling through his releases on iTunes I came across the OST he did for 20th Century Boy and Girl and iTunes recommend this beauty as a related track so I had to check it out because let’s be honest I am absolutely in love with Nam Taehyun. When I found this track on youtube and discovered it was entirely in English I died a million metaphorical deaths. Nam Tae has done it again, this song is beautiful and breathtaking - I have not stopped listening to it since I found it. It has been on repeat over and over again I don’t think this is a track I can ever get sick of. At first I was scared about how slow the song was but then that chorus developed and I was done, my heart was melted in a puddle on the floor and Nam Tae managed to destroy me over and over again as the song progresses. My absolute favourite line from this song is
There’s nobody in here With Me I wake up at night To find you and hold you But nobody’s in here with me
C, S I know you don’t particularly care for him or his music but please please give this song a fair chance because it really deserves it. Take Me Out is part 1 of the new Netflix Kdrama Black and because of this track I started watching it and I have to say even though it is a VERY strange drama I recommend giving it a chance I know it won’t be for everyone but it is very interesting and I will never complain about Nam Taehyun’s voice finishing off the episodes.
[S] I am not even sure C and I really need to actually give any input on this song XD M already made it really long :p (teasing) M is definitely right about me not being a fan of South Clubs music. It is definitely not for me in the slightest way so to say I was apprehensive to listen to a south club song is a understatement. I was completely dreading it when M first wanted to show it to me because I didn’t want to have to say it was a good song if I didn’t like it and I also did not want to be honest and say I don’t like it if I didn’t. it puts me in a very anxious spot XD Luckily this song is amazing and I have nothing really negative to say about it. His English pronunciation is good and I have said before he does have a really good vioce but the style of music he is trying to do with South Club is not a good style for him at all! I could honestly see myself coming to really appreciate his music if he came out with more songs like this. The only issue I can really see with this song is the fact that it does not fit what we have seen in the Drama Black at all so far. Black is pretty action packed and dark and even though the lyrics of this song are darker the vibe of the song does not fit the overall feel of the drama yet so this being one of the first OST’s released so far is weird to me.
[C] I didn’t even know this was the OST for Black, I need to go back and listen now because I don’t remember this but I’ve only watched two episodes and it’s been a few weeks. I was surprised though I don’t mind this song at all, like S said the direction he’s going with South Club isn’t the best he could be doing because when he’s solo he seems to do better.
