Dandelions and daisies out the front and hemlock water-dropwort leaves at Lakeside Country Park yesterday and beautiful orangey summer plumage Black-tailed Godwit in flight over mud some of a great amount we got awesome views of and a view of the River Frome on a brilliant boat trips around Poole Harbour with Birds of Poole Harbour today. We'd not done a trip with them since 2024 and as ever it was a brilliant way to spend time outdoors in a good vantage point to see wildlife and so much of it with a knowledgeable and dedicated team onboard helping us all to see as much wildlife as possible and give fascinating and hopeful information on the charities' work and the nature and projects to help the natural world in the area. I am very thankful to them all for making this trip a memorable time which I had been looking forward to and was excellent.

My first Common Tern of the year, Sandwich Terns and Marsh Harriers seen and heard well stars for us for a second consecutive cracking wild Saturday, Greenshank, Bar-tailed Godwits and Sika Deers were other highlights on the boat trip. Yesterday Orange-tip and Speckled Wood butterflies, delightful views of beautifully singing Dunnock and Blackcap and cuckoo-pint and bluebells were other highlights.

At Blashford Lakes I was thrilled to see my first Little Ringed Plovers of the year bringing my year list to 154 which I'm really pleased with competing well with where my two highest ever year lists 2025 and 2023 were at this stage, gorgeous orange Black-tailed Godwits and Wigeons with both enjoyed in flight too and the latter savoured with their sweet whistling calls a nice soundtrack of the day before they disappear to breed, Dunnock, Chiffchaff, Red Admiral, common dog violet, wild daffodil, King Alfred's Cakes and scarlet elf cup to complete a brilliant refreshing spring weekend.
