This was on Discovery Channel. The story of the worst Prison in The United States of America. After the "freedom of the Slaves" they began arresting most had life sentences, old, young, but Black. The accommodations were horrid, many suicides and yes the Louisiana Bayou made it very difficult to escape. So about 1800 plus one of the old slaves owners promised to bank This Inhuman, not fit for animals. By bank rolling the Prison he requested the prisoners work the fields for free!!!Hence Prison For Profit.
