the outsider is not wrong. thomas could choose to absolve him of all his sins. then again, thomas isn’t even entirely sure what he blames him for. was it the role he’d played in his parents’ death? or was it perhaps that he did nothing to prevent it? was it truly anything at all or was he just hardwired to try to find guilt in the leviathan.
“ i want to. i want to. ” but he can’t. whatever he does will not be enough for the outsider’s interest is fleeting and thomas never thought himself very intriguing to begin with. “ you’ll grow bored of me. and then i’ll have nothing. ”
