Commission for blackfeatherlancer and blackfeatherdriver of their adorable warboys Magpie and Rook! Thanks again for the commission, it was a real treat to draw such a pair of cuties :D!
@blackfeatherlancer The pup had seen the familiar vehicle when it had approached when Odan sat at the opening way up in the citadel. He got to his feet, excited, and runs down the hallways to the spot where the driver and lancer would arrive. ‘Magpie!’ the boy called out when they did, going up to him and hugs the tall man, barely able to even wrap his short arms around the Lancer’s waist.

Once again Nux found himself sitting like a bag of salt because -again- he had been too stubborn to go in earlier while he really hadn’t been doing well. A thin tube was attached to his wrist, fresh blood being supplied by a person serving as blood bag. His breaths were short huffs, feeling suffocated and his head feeling fit to burst with the lack of oxygen in his own blood. In the meantime distant eyes looked at other war boys passing by and coming in for treatment, and he was kind of glad to be reminded of how he wasn’t the only one.
// another drawing ;3;

@blackfeatherlancer: Continued from here.
Magpie knew, too, that his partner would have ups and downs. He knew, and he understood- and he would stay by him for all of them. Especially the downs. The feeling of a too-hot forehead against him was worrisome, but he had faith that it would be okay. It had to be okay. “Nah, I’ll get food later. Gonna stay with you.” He could scavenge, he could steal if he needed, it didn’t matter to him. Rook needed him here. “I’ll get us both food later, not gonna go without you.” He refused. If Rook was too unwell to get up and get food, he’d wait until later when he could get them both food.
This almost felt good all things considering. Magpie’s skin was cool beneath his brow, soothing even, but it was little comfort in the long run at the weight of all things considering. He couldn’t fight like this. Certainly couldn’t drive like this - what would happen should Great War find itself declared?
For a long moment there was no verbal confirmation from the sick man, eyes closed as he continued to all but nestle there, half-focused on the ragged sound of his own breathing, half-focused on the thrum rhythm of the big Lancer’s heartbeat he could both feel and hear. A pulse that was settling from his prior almost restlessness. The suggestion of getting them both food was one that brought a choked, crackling laugh from Rook however... he wasn’t hungry. He’d been eating less and less and it was even starting to show.
“Go on.” A pause, words almost slurring a little from the fever before he caught himself. “I’don’t mind. Gotta keep up your strength.” It was important after all, Magpie needed to keep on top of his game. He was one of the best. Good enough to be an Imperator in Rook’s probably rather exceedingly biased opinion... but he couldn’t be fighting fit if he didn’t eat.
“Will still be here if you go’n come back.” He wasn’t dying today.
