Well fuck. You can bet given both Two-Face’s and Black Mask’s reputations of raiding for cash and jewels the THREE of them have bumped heads many times before! The endeavour that led them to this was no different. Dent had been picking off a wealthy gathering when Sionis got in his way and now here they were. Typical that they put them in the same cell. A horrible decision really.

12.what are your character’s major flaws?

Boy what a delicious question. Giles’s flaw is ungodly repression and tendency to put people on a pedestal. Buffy included. Buffy especially, sometimes. Yes, yes, his job as the Watcher is to watch her guide and prepare her, but you remember how he got fired because his love as a father for the Slayer was deemed useless to the cause? Now I disagree with the Council because that love was a part of the set of circumstances that led to Buffy being one of the Slayers who lived the longest, but I also learn that Giles would do anything for her even if it cost him. The whole Angelus/Angel debacle? He still had the capacity to feel sorry for Buffy when Angel was dying in her arms after Faith shot him as if nothing had ever happened.

Sometimes I wish he would be more selfish the same way I wish the way he was written out in S6 to be better. Smoother. Give him a solid reason to leave (give him a friend? ? a boyfriend?? ? seriously though, he could have a family emergency, he could also have i don’t know, an allergic reaction to prolonged exposure to hellmouth--SOMETHING) instead of waffling about for a quarter of a season and have him leave after that heartbreaking memory spell (much as I love that episode) with such a flimsy reason. and with that i’ve gone off on a tangent, oops.

Anywhoo, no, Giles is no pushover, but for some people he’d chop his own limb off and that makes me sad.
