A little more about Single Origin Chocolate

Single origin chocolate is chocolate made from beans from one region. Many Chocolate connoisseurs argue that chocolate has varied tastes and such tastes depend upon where it is grown. When chocolate is made from beans from many different areas, taste distinction is more difficult to discern. Unique flavours are readily apparent in chocolate made from single-origin beans, especially when the chocolate is made with a cocoa content of 70% or higher. A higher concentration of cocoa allows the chocolate eater to taste more of the bean. Single-origin chocolates have unique tasting notes!

Jamaica is one of only eight exclusive fine flavoured cocoa producers around the world and is rated one off the best for quality!! Many chocolate companies use Jamaican cocoa to improve other cocoa in their products however all of the cocoa in our Black River Chocolates come from Jamaica which is why they taste so great! Our chocolates are 72% cocoa and 100% Jamaican!!
