Hi 👋🏽 today is my Mommy's Birthday 🎉 and I found this picture at my grandma's last year. Story time 🤗😊 My mother moved from Louisiana to Indiana to work for Eli Lilly after graduating from Southern University because there still weren't any opportunities to work in science/medical research for black people in the south after integration. She was one of the first African Americans to work in the lab studying microbiology, specifically bacteriology 🔬in the 1960s at Eli Lilly. My mother was a hidden figure. 🙌🏾🤗 Lit Mommy! Honestly truly I don't have to google anything cause my mom knows everything and she's a psychic but I don't listen cause I'm stubborn 🤷🏽‍♀️.
