In reffering to the "jokes at transgender expense" are you talking about Jaune in a dress? As someone dating a Transgender, neither me (as pan) and my ftm fiance, find anything offensive to our gender or sexuality in RWBY.

well while i'm glad neither of you were offended by it, i do need to point out that just because some people aren't offended by something, doesn't make it not offensive (this is in fact where the "i'm not [x]-ist, my best friend is [x]" and "well my [x] friend doesn't have a problem with me doing/saying [y]" arguments come from which is A Problem)

anyway, that particular joke was at the expense of trans women, not trans men, by playing on the "man in a dress" thing as a joke to be laughed at, which is horribly problematic for trans women as it leads to cases such as leelah alcorn's where teenage trans women feel hopeless about ever transitioning to the point where they don't look like a "man in a dress," which as we've established, society treats as a joke

beyond that, there was a throwaway line earlier on from penny in regards to blake, asking if blake's secret was that she was a man which is also transmisogynistic by way of implying that trans women aren't "real women"

I'm sorry but in what fandom ever are people 100% on board with anything that happens? A good step forward happened in LoK, a kid's show at that, both creators came out maybe a day or two after the finale to confirm and stand with the under respresented minority they gave representation to, and you're going to equate that as a problem because the obvious people obviously ignored it? What do you want to do, rip skulls open and physically change peoples' minds to fit your views?

first off, chill. we're talking about fandoms here not the global warming crisis or some shit

second off, not sure you read what i wrote. i said the problem was that it was presented late in the game, which is what led to people claiming that it was added in as last-minute fanservice. c'mon, think about what you're saying here, why in the world would i, as a queer person, think that it was a problem that a canon queer couple is presented in children's media? i think it's a great thing. i'm glad it happened. i couldn't stop grinning for days after i watched it.

what i said was, i think it should've happened earlier to help stave off the people who are quite literally furious that it happened in the first place, the people who are calling it "last-minute" and "out of nowhere"

my problem is not that it happened at all, it's that it happened in the last minute of the last episode.
