re: why the funk does turbo talk the goofy way he has for 4ish years
something i super fell in love with w/wir is that the dialogue (esp. of the core four) is wildly colorful. it’s all witty and all the characters talk in ways that set them apart, but also say a lot about their characters? sounds weird when i phrase it like that, but essentially when i was making turbo i was like, ‘man, he can’t be boring. he’s going to be in a cast that uses phrases like oh my land, sweet mother of monkey milk, slick tiddlywinks, pintsize, etc. so he had to talk just as goofily and witty to stand out
and thus, he did. i also wanted to emphasize what a retro douchebag he was, so that’s why so much of the 80′s lingo was thrown in there.
the accent just felt right? i dunno, with how much trash he talks and his attitude it just rolled that way in my head. it definitely got thicker the more i played him though
