Never in his life had Henry ever lived in fear over anything his career brought him. Not even now, when the raving killer he and his homicide squad had been after marked Henry as NEXT.
It was a flaw of the job as far as Henry was concerned, he had no need to be protected by anyone but himself. But as far as his Chief was concerned, he wasn't going to let one of his best detectives go unwatched. In this situation it was The Chief's way or the highway, Henry had no choice but to relent.
He picked the person, however, as he didn't want a uni cop following him damn near everywhere and making it painfully obvious. That's when Ali was brought in, not quiet a friend, but someone Henry had helped in the past. "You said you owed me one, so this is gonna be the one." Henry had told him, albeit very reluctantly.
And now, sitting on his sofa on a Saturday night next to the man basically titled as his bodyguard, it was every bit as awkward as Henry had feared.
"So, uh..... what do we do now? Are we watching a movie are you just gonna watch me watch a movie?"
This was painful. The other man was great to look at though, so it wasn't all horrific.
