Minors DNI - my content is for mature audiences only
The coffee shop was cozy and adorable as you eyed the bookcase and fireplace. It had a quaint and rustic feel to it which you appreciated. You wanted this date to go well and an intimate space between you and your match was exactly what you hoped for.
The bell over the door rang as Trafalgar Law stepped in. He closed his umbrella and took his puffy hat off, shaking it free of water. A light drizzle had begun to fall as the two of you pulled up to the coffee shop and being the gentleman he is, Law offered to drop you off so you wouldn’t get wet while he parked his motorcycle. It was a nice feeling, having someone be thoughtful towards you. You could get used to that!
You met him at the door, “Thanks again, you didn’t have to do that but the gesture is appreciated. Can I buy you a coffee?”
His warm, honey like eyes crinkled at the outer edges as a thin smile pulled on his face. “Sure, so long as you don’t mind me buying the food. I have a bread intolerance.”
You both put your orders in and walked to a corner table close to the fireplace. The window was splattered with tiny rain drops, the sun fighting desperately to break through the gaps in the clouds. Law sat up partially and pulled a folded pamphlet from his back pocket.
“Did you get one too?”
You nodded. You had read that pamphlet over and over from the moment you heard about your match. Trafalgar LAW. The most successful cardiac surgeon in the tri-state area. And somehow single? And using a matchmaking service? Nope – you’re not gonna question the universe for this delightful gift in the form of a dark, lean, heavily pierced and tattooed man. A man who was slaying in his custom jeans and black button down that somehow clung to his muscled body. His ass more defined paired with his heeled motorcycle boots. Something inside you fluttered.
You’d seen the billboards and magazines of the Surgeon Who Defies Death, the man who like Keanu Reeves, had seen tragedy after tragedy strike down his loved ones but never taking him. And in turn he gave back by saving lives. In honor of the ones he couldn’t save, for the ones who saved him. You had to pinch yourself to keep from tearing up.
“_____, you ok?” his voice brought you back.
“S-sorry! I did but I didn’t bring it. I think it suggested some ice breakers and topics of discussion?”
He nodded, a small grin appearing on his face. “These feel a bit stale. C’mon, truth or dare? Who came up with these?”
“I don’t know, some of them have merit! We can start with something different if you want.”
“Sure. How about we start with hobbies? Can you guess mine?”
You sure could not, totally stumped. As a last ditch effort, “uhhhh foreign coin collection??”
His lead leaned back as he laughed, “close! Commemorative coins.” You were surprised at that, letting out a giggle. “Ok my turn.”
The way he eyed you had you squirming in your seat. The waiter brought out your drinks and food, and you were shocked to find that rice flour made for a great substitute in pound cake. Talking and eating, you both became more relaxed as you got to know more about each other. It was fun learning about the surgeon who seemed so…professional and stoic in his many interviews. He was actually pretty laid back and funny with a witty, dry sense of humor that kept you laughing and giggling as the cake and coffee disappeared.
The rain had begun pouring and lightning flashed in the background. Law looked up and a frown turned his lips down.
“Hmm we may be stuck here for a while. I knew I should have taken the car. _____ want to move this party to the couch in front of the fireplace? I’ll grab some more coffee, or hot chocolate if you prefer.”
You immediately agreed. The couch was plush and you sunk in a little as you took your seats on the cushions. Becoming even more squished together as he moved to pull his phone from his pocket.
“Want to see pictures of my dog?”
The polar bear face phone case reflected the glow from the fireplace as Law scrolled through the actual hundreds of photos of his white Pyrenean Mountain dog named Bepo. You cooed and awed at the massive fluff, acutely aware of Law’s arm oh so casually wrapping around your shoulder, pulling you even closer.
Afternoon turned to early evening as the rain wore on. You two however didn’t even notice. After going through every single photo and video of Bepo and your pets, you had just hung on the couch. Enjoying the aura of the cozy atmosphere, the closeness between you – Law conceded to play the ice breaker games just for the excuse to not move. It wasn’t until your stomach growled that he checked the time.
“I’m positive this place has actual food we can eat. I know most first dates don’t normally last,” he checked his phone again. “Six and a half hours long.”
“World’s longest first date,” you giggle, hand covering your face a little. “I don’t mind, it’s been the nicest first date I’ve had in a while.”
A warm smile spread on Law’s thin lips. “You’re cute when you try to hide your face, d’you know that?”
Your eyes shot open, fingers twitching to cover your face but you had enough self-control to stop the impulse.
His smile got wider; you could see the flash of his teeth appear. “Want to make it even longer? Or we can take a 10-minute bathroom break and begin a second date right here.”
“Why not just start the second date now? Unless you need a break?”
He nodded, “Yeah I do. Cause I wanted to end our first date with a kiss but I can’t do that if we jump from the end to beginning. You gotta give me some wiggle room.”
You were certain your eyes were as big as dinner plates. “Oh,” you breathed, leaning closer into him.
“Can I—” he started, pausing when your hand reached to tug on his sleeve. He didn’t miss the way your eyes were twinkling in anticipation. As he began to tilt his head, you tucked your head to lean into the crook of his neck. He wasn’t letting you off the easily.
Lips barely tracing your ear, “______, can I kiss you before we start our second date?”
You nodded furiously into his skin.
“Then you gotta stop hiding,” he chuckled.
That was incentive for your head to snap back up, meeting his eyes while yours slowly shut. Law closed the gap and pressed his lips to yours. He smiled as he heard your soft gasp, eagerly kissing him back. “Best first date ever.”
Sorry this took forever! I hope you enjoy sweetie!

Having your friend set you up on a blind date was irritating. Having your friend set your blind date up as a cooking class was infuriating. You enjoy cooking and baking, mostly because you just love eating the food, but the idea of cooking with someone caused pause. It wasn’t that you were against a blind date, but you weren’t trying to make a living cooking and at home if you messed up, there were no witnesses. How were you supposed to impress someone if they were turned off by how you conducted yourself in the kitchen?
And that’s exactly what happened. When you saw the gray-haired guy walk in, you knew he was your date. That’s the only detail you had been given from your friend which was annoying because what if there were others with a similar hair color? Somehow there wasn’t.
It was awkward at first, his stiff movements around you made it seem like he’d rather be anywhere else. You even tried to subtly touch your fingers to his while reaching for a utensil, trying to give him some hint that it was a date, but his undivided focused seemed to be on the meal. You could’ve sworn that he even sighed when you made a small mistake, his larger calloused hands taking over for you.
You had always felt comfortable in the kitchen, it was a safe place for you, at home you danced around with such ease, but watching Osamu work was something else. Everything he did, every movement that he made had precision and meaning. It wasn’t until you stopped trying to help altogether that he looked up at you.
“Are you a chef or something?” You asked, biting your lip. You weren’t really one to be so bold, but it felt more like a group project at school than a date and you’d much rather be at home if he was uninterested.
“Something like that.” He smirked. He started to tell you about his onigiri business and there was a passion that burned in his eyes.
Something flipped after that, he didn’t talk as much and you took the lead in almost every conversation, but instead of brushing your hands away, he’d put his on yours and guide you. You have been cooking for a while now, but this had to be the best experience cooking you had.
After the class finished, you found yourself lingering in the room, not wanting to end the date. What had started off as something full of dread had ended up being quite enjoyable, so the idea that it was already over tugged at your heart. Your mouth opened slightly when you saw he walk away without a word, heading towards the door leaving you at the cook station.
He stopped, turning before looking around, locking eyes with you. “Are you coming? I thought we could get some coffee? Or tea?”
A smile broke out on your face. Maybe this Miya Osamu would give you some personal cooking lessons, but for now you’d settle for a nice cup of coffee.
for you, the sweetest @ayusachan! we hope you enjoy!!
Miya Atsumu regretted taking on his stupid twin brother’s stupid bet and now, his fucking hands were freezing.
“Bet you can’t hold her hand by the end of the date,” Miya Osamu had challenged him in that same morning.
Atsumu, being the overly competitive person he is, immediately fired back, “Oh, I definitely can!”
“Wanna bet on it?” Osamu grinned. “You can’t come home until you’ve held hands. I take your rice for a week if you give up or fail, and you get mine if you succeed.”
“Why rice?”
Osamu shrugged. “I like rice.”
With that, the deal was set.
Before leaving home, Atsumu had a perfect yet simple plan: Because it was January, the coldest month of Japan, he would “accidentally” leave his gloves back at home. Then he’d make sure his date would see his bare, freezing hands and maybe complain a little about it and then—here’s the good part—he’ll ask if they could hold hands to keep it warm. Oh, it was just so ideal and so heart-achingly sweet! He was for sure to win against his damn twin and watch him frown when he takes his dear rice.
But now, walking alongside you out in the cold weather in one of Hyogo’s street shopping district, Atsumu wondered if getting frostbite on both hands was really worth for rice.
Rubbing his palms together in attempt to warm them, Atsumu spares you a glance as you saunter happily, your eyes wandering to every store you walked by. You both had just met up and were now looking for a place to have lunch, and surprisingly, you haven't noticed his missing gloves nor suffering despite him constantly blowing air into his palms and rubbing them just as he was doing now.
“Where would you suggest we eat?” you ask, finally facing him with a polite smile on your lips.
On the inside, he’s jumping for joy that you actually paid him attention, but on the outside Atsumu shrugs nonchalantly before speaking, “I’m good with anything.” He then brings his palms up to his face to blow into them to finally get you to notice, but you already turn away from him.
“We can just keep looking around till we find something then,” you hum, still continuing on with some pep in your step.
Atsumu’s eye twitched. Maybe it was time for the next phase of his plan—complain.
“Oh, man,” Atsumu groans, loud enough only for you to hear. “My hands are freezing.”
You look back at him, your gaze landing on his shaking hands that were still up to his face. Eyes widening, your eyes shift back up to him with your expression morphing to worry. “You didn’t wear any gloves?”
Atsumu resists the urge to grin and instead feigns a sheepish look. “I left them by accident,” he lies so smoothly. “Guess I was just nervous about this date.” “We have to warm them up quickly then!” you say, urgency in your voice, as you break his gaze to look around.
It was getting harder to hide the twitching of his mouth now. His plan was now in play. “Well,” Atsumu begins, trying to hide the mischief in his voice. “We could - ”
“Ah, here!” you interrupt as you begin walking towards a certain direction, leaving Atsumu staring after you in surprise with his mouth still open, the words he was about to speak dying in his throat. “We can eat ramen here!” you continue pointing at a ramen house that lay ahead. “It’ll warm you up fast.”
The setter shuts his mouth closed, gritting his teeth in slight irritation before he trails behind you begrudgingly.
The restaurant was not crowded, thankfully, which made it easy for both of you to find seats. You take an empty booth and sit on one side while Atsumu, still sulky about his foiled plan, claims the one across you. A waiter comes by to take your orders and you tell him as he hastily writes it down on his notepad. Once done, he bows before rushing off to the kitchen leaving you both alone with the rather tense air.
“So,” you say, leaning slightly forward towards him. “Are your hands warmer now?”
“Slightly,” he replies, crossing his arms against his chest, his lips forming into a small pout.
You frown a little at that and tilt your head to the side. “You seem troubled?”
“What makes you say that?”
“That pout you have on. What’s wrong?”
What was he supposed to say? That you didn’t get his signals of wanting to hold hands? That he was already losing to his twin and he wouldn’t eat rice for a week? Atsumu was honestly starting to feel bad about all this and he couldn’t exactly be truthful without insulting you or getting a slap to his face. So, Atsumu puts on an apologetic smile before lying once more, “It’s nothing. I was just thinking about what we’re going to do after this. There’s not much to do in a shopping district if we’re being honest.”
You nod in agreement, leaning back against the wooden backrest. “You can only window shop basically.”
He nods too although absently. “Or actually buy things - ” he wavers, an idea dawning on him. “Or…”
You give him a curious look. “Or?”
His lips pull back to form a grin. “We could go inside each store and try to style each other’s clothing.”
“Actually,” you say, tapping a finger on your chin. “That doesn’t seem like a bad plan.”
“Right?”
“I do hope you’re great at styling, Atsumu,” you grin back at him. “Don’t want to embarrass yourself.”
He raises a brow at you in amusement, “Is that a challenge?”
You shrug, “Maybe?”
“Oh, you’re on.”
-
After lunch, you both really went on to go to different stores and made each other try on the most ridiculous mix of clothing and colours and proceeded to laugh at one another. It wasn’t so much of a challenge anymore and Atsumu didn’t seem to mind, but it did make him forget about his brother’s bet, which he also didn’t mind.
“Really?” Atsumu says before opening the door of his dressing room seall to reveal the horrid fashion you had him wear—a pair of neon orange shorts with white floral patterns paired with a too-formal blue button-up polo.
You, who was standing right outside his stall, bit at your bottom lip to stop yourself from exploding in laughter. “Looks great,” you manage to get out.
“Ha-ha,” Atsumu rolls his eyes before heading out to go to a rack of clothing, ignoring the stare the employees gave him. “It’s your turn to put something on.”
You finally let out the laugh you’ve been holding in as you trudge behind him. “I wonder what you’ll make me put on next.”
As he runs his still-freezing hands over the clothing, they shake visibly and Atsumu had to put his other hand over it to stop it before letting out a string of curses.
“Are you still cold?” he hears you speak up from behind him.
He looks back at you to find you looking at his hands worriedly. Softening at the sight of you, he calls out, “Hey.”
You shift your gaze back up to him though the expression remained on your face.
He flashes you a small, reassuring smile. “I’m good, don’t worry about it. My fingertips are a little dry but it’s fine.”
You pause for a moment before giving him a small nod.
“Alright,” he breaks your gaze to look back at the rack of clothing. “Back to making you look like a train wreck.”
He hears you laugh and he couldn’t help himself but enjoy it.
-
The sun starts to set, signalling the end of the day, and the end of your date. You both stand by the entrance of the train station, the once-tense air now elated. Atsumu had his hands shoved into the coats of his pockets, the thickness of it somewhat warming them but not enough to stop it from shaking. You, too, had both hands in your coat pockets as you turn to face him.
“This is where I go,” you say, almost sadly.
“Oh?” Atsumu raises a brow at the tone of your voice, a simper plays on his lips. “Are you sad to leave me?”
Your face visibly turns red as you clear your throat and bring a gloved-hand out of your pocket before stretching it out toward you, palm up. “Could you show me your hand?”
Atsumu gives her a questioning look. “Why?”
“Please?”
He blinks at you and slowly takes out his left hand to show it to you. You then take a hold of it and Atsumu chokes in surprise.
“What - ?”
Bringing your other hand out from your pocket to reveal a small plastic bag, you place it on his open palm before releasing him. “Stop lying and saying you’re fine when your hands are obviously freezing. It will go numb.” you mutter loud enough for him to hear. You then look up at him with a smile on your face “But thank you for today, I really enjoyed it.” You wave at him before rushing to go inside the station, leaving him staring after you in shock for the second time that day.
-
“Oh?” Osamu says upon seeing Atsumu entering the house and taking his shoes off. “So, have you actually held her hand or did you give up? You ended later than I expected.”
“Shut your fucking mouth,” Atsumu grumbles, his face heating up, as he finishes taking his shoes off then proceeds to walk past his brother, not sparing him a glance. “She held it.”
“She?” his twin muses. “She made the first move?”
“I said shut up!” Atsumu calls out and opens the door to his own room. “Just prepare to starve yourself from rice, because I won!”
Not waiting for a response, Atsumu quickly enters his room and slams the door shut. The setter sighs and leans against his door before raising his now-gloved left hand up to his face. He examined the dark gloves you gave him closely, the design of it very simple that there was not much to it except that it seemed to snug around his hands almost perfectly. He then brings his other hand up to remove the glove from his left. Looking at his now-bare hand, the memory of you grabbing it flickered in the back of his mind, that moment too fleeting, but still, he couldn’t help himself but enjoy it.
Roden stood awkwardly at the entrance to the brightly-lit theme park, waiting for whoever it was he was supposed to meet.
He was dressed smart, but not too smart. Just casual enough to look like a normal person.
This was a disguise, really. If his date came and saw a Skull grunt waiting for them, they'd surely turn tail before he could even introduce himself. What a negative stigma, he thought. Ah well, better to be feared than unknown, at the very least.
He glanced at his Pokéranger watch nervously. 7:24pm.
"Hn...well bud, it's nearly time."
Ammo was sitting next to him, huge and intimidating as ever, with a novelty bowtie around his neck and a small pink gift bag hanging from his jaws. The Houndoom looked less-than-thrilled to be involved. He let out a passive-agressive grunt in reply.
"hrrff..."
Roden was beginning to question his own logic of trying to look less intimidating by dressing normally but still letting his battle-scarred, two hundred pound, fighting-bred hellhound sit next to him, but whatever. If the date didn't like Ammo, then it definitely wouldn't work out, and he probably would have dodged a bullet. Ammo is his partner, no way would he date someone who couldn't handle his...gruff charms.
"...hey, you look handsome, stop complaining. I spent this weeks salary on that tie so don't go burning or shredding it."
It wouldn't be long until they arrived, Roden told himself, breathing deeply and trying to look presentable.
'You can do this.'
[According to this event ->] Thank you @argentnoir!
Awkward.
Not the location, the restaurant he’d picked was exquisite, but he hated having things around his neck which included ties. Bad memories. There was a reason he had ditched the SOLDIER turtle neck as soon as he got the chance!
Sadly he couldn’t quite find and excuse for turning up to a date shirtless or in his beloved uniform. He had even left the leather coat at home, gods how he missed it...
The truth was, Sephiroth wasn’t really in search of a relationship, in fact the very idea of it kind of inconvenienced him, but he wasn’t getting any younger and Hojo had started nagging, then the president had started asking and really, it was awfully clear what they expected of him. It was a problem and thinking about it, it did upset him some: he had a fanclub, plenty of women - and men - eager to take any opportunity they could get to sit in front of him starry-eyed and ruin his evening. It would likely be hard to find a good...uh...lover.
Shivers.
Sephiroth figured if he wanted to have one by the time he actually wanted one then he would likely have to start searching early and here he was, doing the only thing he could to avoid those fans flocking to his person like a swarm of wasps: a blind date. They had a false name, a rough description of his job and otherwise nothing.
He was just leaning back in his chair when he noticed the doors opening several tables away, two men entering dropping off a child.
Those rich kids, probably was brought by her parents’ bodyguards right from piano lessons.
He noticed his mistake when the waiter directed the girl right to his table.
