Here’s an official introduction to my baby Murdock!
I rescued him two weeks ago! He’s a result of poor breeding and not being taken care of, but I love him so, so much. He’s very, very small, and we aren’t sure if that’s from being malnourished, a runt (like the father) or a combination. On top of his size, he also has microphthalmia, which means, basically, that he was born with very small eyes, and he is completely blind in both.

Blind hedgehogs
How can you tell if a hedgehog is blind? I’ve only personally encountered three blind hedgehogs in over six years of hedgehog rescue but I’m often asked this question by other hedgehog rescues.
