I love the whole series but I think this first episode does such an amazing job of sort of giving you an idea of what you're in for.

Anyone ever just think about the fact that Remi had this tiny, perfect baby who was likely the only source of light and joy in her life, only to wake up and realise that she had been ripped from her arms while she was asleep? How could she ever feel safe falling asleep after that? What could her life have been like if she was able to hold her daughter forever? Would she have loved stronger, or trusted more easily? Would she have been softer and less vengeful? Would things have been better for her? Would she have even become Jane, or would her daughter have been enough reason for her to hold onto her life?

And then, our poor, dear Jane, remembering only the curve of her baby’s cheek, the moment of disbelieving terror when she discovered the empty bassinet, and the hollow emptiness of grieving for something you didn’t even realise you had. Did she remember her baby’s cry? Her eyes? Her smell? Would she remember the life they could have had together? Would Remi even have had the time to imagine those things?

TL/DR: I wonder what Remi would have named her daughter…

look, i love that they show that Patterson wants to someday have kids and that she submitted the adoption papers or whatever that was-- foster mom papers? whatever. the thing is that i just lowkey don't like that they completely forget about that little detail after S4E20

and yeah, i know on the finally she says she'd go to Antarctica with Rich and that Jane didn't know about Patterson wanting a child, but i would've been nice that in the future vision/ilusion she had a kid or that they at least hinted that she would eventually get back on track with that or smth.

and i know it doesn't quite go with the whole Indiana Jones type of life they apparently get and that the papers were probably automatically rejected when they became fugitives, but man dont tell me it wouldn't have been cute and wonderful to just see Patterson with a little kid of her own :(
