What if the mikes were low key better parental figures than tenna

Like they did a better job at being a disciplinary guardian that wasn’t TOO harsh and maybe they low key comforted the Tennaling sometimes when Gemma didn’t and they were closer and - *gets slimed out by tenna*

Aww I love this idea, 3 Mikes and a Pipis.

I know that I wrote in the past about them getting on your case a lot for being clumsy & being annoying but things aren’t black and white. I feel like they would have an attachment to you since they spent a good chunk of their time caring for you while still in the egg and after you hatched.

Like cleaning you up, keeping you warm and trying to feed you before Tenna could takeover. Compared to the Shadow-guys, the Weather Duo and other staff members who spoil you, the Mikes are more strict and firm with you.

It’s not outta malice or bc they wanna bully a kid but more out of “hey we’re trying to work here, please try to stay out of the way”, “please don’t make our jobs difficult” and other things.

Small Mike is the most strictest with you, keeping you in line and acting as the “killjoy” in your relationship. For the longest time you genuinely thought that he didn’t like you since he was always on your case or judging you. That it all boiled down to jealousy bc you had Tenna’s attention more.

In reality it wasn’t that at all. He wasn’t doing this to be a prick or a bully but rather to keep Tenna from freaking out & bc he didn’t want you to accidentally make an ass out of yourself. People are cruel Kid, very cruel. You do hold appreciation towards him since he was one of the only people who cared enough to try and guide you. To properly discipline you instead of brushing you off.

Jongler acts as a protector of sorts to you, mostly telling everyone to lay off of ya if you accidentally mess something up. He’s the least concerned with your clumsy habits since you’re just a kid. He’s chill, you like him enough to have conversations. You definitely would run to him if Battat was “being too mean” when you were younger. He would definitely play along to rage bait and it would cheer you up after you were once again blown off by Tenna.

Pluey is your main source of comfort bc kitty cat. You love him and he loves you too! You were naturally drawn to him bc soft and he was extremely fun to play with. Not uncommon for Tenna to walk in on you using one of those fishing rod cat toys with Pluey. It gets Pluey into Tenna’s good graces since he’s so good with you. He provides comfort most of all after Tenna neglects or snaps at you for being too bothersome or bc you won’t do a specific thing. You don’t even gotta say anything, he just knows.

The Mikes definitely don’t agree with Tenna’s treatment of you and it’s admittedly distressing to watch you constantly beg for Tenna’s affection.

They’ve also been put into the awkward situation where they gotta drag you away from Tenna who has to go somewhere or simply doesn’t wanna see you right now. As well as trying to answer uncomfortable questions.

“Does my daddy even *sniffle* like me?”

“Of course he does Kid! It’s just uh, ya see… he’s going through a tough time right now.”

They all deserve their “Uncles of the year” awards

One more (not really, I'll probably think of something else). An alternative version of the lost Spamtennaling! What if they wandered into they alleyway that Spamton lives in (I headcanon each darkworld has its own district in castletown). She has no idea that this is her other father, and there is a chance that this is how Spamton finds out that the pipis even hatched (because it's impossible for him to not recognize the kid as his own). When he hears Tenna coming, he hides back in the trash can.

Now, the kid has started calling people cathode and using very familiar vocabulary.

Spamton ends up accidentally traumatizing his kid whoops/hj.

Okay so you have a massive wandering problem, Tenna has had numerous near heart attacks when noticing that you have skiddadled to whatever caught your eye at the moment. This time was no different. Tenna wanted a nice walk with his baby after moving into Castle Town to get to know the surrounding areas better. Or other case scenario, Tenna needed to be in Cyber-city for some reason. Why? Idk you tell me.

You were doing so good at not running amok until you didn’t. Maybe you noticed something interesting or was growing bored with Tenna. Either way you end up cutting yourself loose and ended up getting lost. It’d been hours and you were pretty scared. You could hear Tenna’s “and this is why you should always listen to me” spiel and what would you give to hear it. You eventually ended up by the dumpster that was housing Spamton.

Yeah he ended up scaring the ever loving fuck outta you unintentionally by popping out of the dumpster and being loud n shit. At first Spamton was gonna do his usual “buy my dubious wares” shtick until he noticed how familiar you looked. He was all up in your grill too, touching you n shit. Bro get away.

Those antennas, that dashing nose (okay pal), your soft plumage. Holy smokes, nah, nah as if Trashheap would’ve kept the pipis! Although it eventually clicks when he notices the bow in your hair or around your neck. Tenna not only kept you but made sure you hatched! Cue Spamton asking oddly specific questions as if he personally knew you, which only made you feel uncomfortable bc you did not know this man.

Not to mention he wasn’t like any Addison you’ve seen before. Why was he asking about CRTS? About you? Did you know this man? Did he know Tenna? Thankfully this family reunion was cut short when you heard an Addison’s worried voice calling out your name. You took your opportunity to flee, eager to just go home.

Tenna was on the verge of tears when he saw you, if not sobbing as he held you tightly. Scolding you for being so reckless, asking you what if someone were to hurt or do something awful to you? Then you mentioned the weird Addison in a dumpster.

A few days later you were saying things that only Tenna would understand

I feel like Tenna would try to do game nights with his Kid and the staff and it's some really bad off brand game Asgore bought YEARS ago

His kid used to love it when they were younger; but now they all just go through with it so Tenna doesn't go into a depressive episode or throw a tantrum.

Also, he always makes sure his Kid wins no matter what and Reader hates that and trys to lose on purpose to get out of it.

Tenna really is one of those parents who assume that their kids’ have the same interests for life lol.

It used to be a fun lil treat and probably the only time you felt happy with your dad. For once he wasn’t focused on work or the Dreemurs but you! Oh it used to be so much fun with Tenna’s employees too, made it feel like you were on those family sitcoms!

But then it quickly got very repetitive as you became older. But this was one of the only times you’d get to hang out with Tenna that didn’t involve business so you’ll take what you can get.

With Spamton leaving gifts for the spamtennaling, specifically the toy car. I wonder how Tenna would feel about the kid getting really attached to a red toy car that looks quite familiar to Tenna. He certainly didn't get it for her. He asks around to try and find out who gave it to her, but no dice. He tried taking it away, but the kid just loves it so much.

Tenna definitely did try taking it away to avoid digging anything unpleasant up but you always found a way to get it back. Tenna asked you where you got it from, asking if you stole it or found it somewhere. You only gave a vague reply that you apparently won it in a contest or something. It said so on a letter that you got with the car.

Strange, Tenna then asked you if you still had the letter. You said no and asked for him to leave you alone bc you were in the middle of a heated conversation plot line rn. Tenna tried to agree with your statement but the car model looked so similar to a particular mailman’s beloved car.

I'm thinking about Tenna with the Pipis, pre hatching, when he gets REALLLY attached to it after Spamton is gone and the Dreammurs abandon him. He probably doesn't like to leave it alone for long. He carries it around in a baby carrier. If he ever has to go somewhere he can't bring the Pipis, he puts the Mikes on babysitting duty. They kinda see it as pointless, but they can't say that to Tenna. However, the plot twist comes when the pipis hatches a little bit after Tenna leaves it in their care. So now they have to care for a baby Addison hybrid.

I headcanon most Addisons have a hands off parenting approach, so it's normal for them not to be around when the pipis hatches. Because of this, the babies probably instinctively chirp really loudly to alert the parent ad that they've hatched. So now the adds have to deal with a chirping baby ad that they have no idea how to care for. And when Tenna gets home, he's absolutely PISSSED that he missed that he missed the hatching. However, he's very quickly calmed down at the sight of his little baby that has crawled right up to him and is borderline climbing up him to get to her papa.

Tenna desperately clings onto the pipis and the hope that it eventually hatches after he accepts that Spamton isn’t coming back. He may not have his business partner but at least he has you? Right? It’s uncomfortable and saddening for Tenna’s employees to watch him obsessively fuss & dote on the egg. Between taking it out for walks in the studio, dressing it up in bows and talking to it like an actual person.

You could sometimes find Tenna reading parenting books on breaks or him looking back at Toriel and Asgore’s parenting for guidance. If you thought about it, him and the Dreemurs were in the same boat with them caring for children that were beyond their knowledge!

If only Tenna had Spamton though… by his side. Pah! Who needs that deadbeat anyhow?! It’ll just be him and his sweet little starlet, that’s fine by him!

Obviously everyone played along with their boss’s whims and took on shifts of babysitting you. Perhaps some of them got attached too. The Mikes tended to get the brunt of it since Tenna trusted them the most.

“Besides it’s your duty as [Name]’s godparent!”

Okay nothing too difficult! Just place the egg on some soft material and… wait wdym Tenna has a whole ass list of what to do? They don’t have the heart or backup job to tell Tenna maybe he was being too optimistic. Whatever just make sure the egg doesn’t crack.

Tenna had gone out to a business meeting and couldn’t take you with so he left in the care of the Mikes. So far, so good. Nothing was happening and Tenna would be done soon. Until the egg started to move. You hatched alone, with your beaked nose, droopy antennas and dampened feathers. No parent in sight. That’s okay, let me call them.

Everyone went quiet when hearing that weird chirping noise, sounded like static mixed with regular chirping. It got louder and louder, demanding even. You were hungry, cold and needed a parent! The Mikes got to you first, absolutely flabbergasted. Okay so the boss wasn’t crazy. OH SHIT THE BOSS WASNT CRAZY!

You wanted nothing to do with the Mikes in front of you, peering at them with disinterest from your egg before continuing to chirp. Okay what do they do? Tenna’s instructions only said what to do with the egg instead of an actual baby. Small Mike couldn’t help but cringe at noticing your other dad shine through.

You didn’t care much for them, mostly bc they had no idea what to do. They mostly bumbled around while you sat there. Didn’t help they wouldn’t stop looking at you! Then Tenna walked through the door.

At first he couldn’t believe it, walking past the Mikes as they tried to explain. You really hatched? You were so tiny, so soft when Tenna picked you up. Then came the waterworks. You were just so perfect!! Your sweet face with no doubt an even charming smile when you would get older!

Your soft feathers and hair! You recognized Tenna as your parent since he imprinted on your egg and bc of your own lil antennas. Like yep! Thats dad, that’s daddy. It was admittedly sweet watching Tenna be happy for once, he looked like he could explode from sheer joy.

You got a lot of smooches and praise from Tenna that day.

Dad! Tenna thoughts have resumed, a nap has helped immensely, I now feel okay again. Thank you so so much for answering my ask, it was a treat to wake up to.

Now back to the heart wrenching stuff, what If FRIEND did get to Tenna's and Spamton's child? They are with Kris a lot after all and are literally the product of a Pipis. What is a chick but an old egg to a hungry cat?

They left to go have a smoke or something fresh air late one night and when they stepped out of their and Tenna's home, they noticed something in the shadows. Pink and Gold eyes, looking up at them. They thought it was Spamton.

Minutes later, Tenna wakes up to hearing his child screaming bloody murder again, he looks to his side, assuming they were having another nightmare but they are GONE. They aren't by his side.

When he runs outside, he finds them covered head to toe in bite marks, bleeding and crying on the floor. It's hard to see the extent of the attack, but it's clear that they aren't okay. They will never be okay.

Worst part? If Spamton had at least warned them that FRIEND was out there, they would have been cautious.

The child followed the pointed tail into the shadows. The POOR child!

When you awkwardly get your child roped into your mess.

But this is genuinely Spamton’s worst nightmare that ends up coming to fruition and you didn’t see it coming. You were often confused & even angry whenever Spamton refused your offers to come home with you or vice versa, thinking that he was trying to shirk responsibilities. But you got a rude awakening.

You had stepped out of your home to get a breath of fresh air before going to bed for the night. Then you got a glimpse of the pink & yellow hues peering out from the dark. You assumed it was your dad and stepped closer. Then it pounced.

Tenna was drifting off to sleep before he heard you let out this blood curdling scream. It wasn’t just any scream it was a “help me I’m going to die” scream. Tenna immediately leapt up and practically bolted out the door to find you. You were curled up on the floor, large nasty gashes littered your body as all you could do was tremble and gasp for air between sobs.

You couldn’t tell Tenna what you saw or who did this to you, just cling onto him and beg for him to take you inside. I imagine that this weird incident helps kickstart Tenna’s redemption as a parent as he actually for once puts his work aside and helps you recover personally.

This moment traumatized Tenna a bit, no parent wants to hear their child scream as if they’re about to die! And what had happened to your small body too, his poor baby. He definitely has you stuck to his side 24/7 and insists on sleeping with you in the same bed.

You’re receptive to Tenna’s comfort, letting him tend to your injuries and coddle you almost. You’re happy that he cares about you now, even if you’re upset that you had to get hurt for it to really click.

Now you’re left with a whole bunch of questions. What did that… thing want? Why did it attack you in particular? Better yet, why did it and Spamton share similar eye colors?
