"i hope you don't just walk into people's houses without an invite, hakeem. you know a little thing called 'manners', right?" she closed the door, shaking her head and locking it. then, she sighed, rubbing her eyes. she followed him over to the couch and gently sat on the arm of the sofa, looking down at him with her eyebrow still raised. "you're so annoying." she rolled her eyes, although she held no real malice behind her tone. "why would you ever think i'd be up at this hour of the night, anyway? what'd you think i was doing?"

"you're ridiculous." erin playfully rolled her eyes, shaking her head. a spontaneous trip, you could call it, one to celebrate the end of 2025 and the beginning of the holiday season. one fully for pleasure, not business (being an owner of multiple salons could do that). "you couldn't have given me a warning so i could make myself look cute before you took that photo?" she raised an eyebrow, an amused look on her face as she flipped her hair over her shoulders. "can i see?" she asked, leaning closer slightly so that she could get a better view.

"you did fuck up." aaliyah crossed her arms, not failing to hide how unamused with everything she currently was. if looks were truly lethal, it's hard to figure where zae would be right now. the way he pauses in his tracks the moment that he sees her sitting in the reception area. it's like a gust of wind rushes over him and for a second the world stands still. it was hard to believe that the woman he spent so much time flirting with, before she fell off the face of the planet, was sitting right in front of him. jordan swallows thickly for just a moment and then a laugh lets itself out before he can find a single word to speak.

" of all the people i expected to see today, you were probably near the bottom of the list. " a few steady strides close the distance between him and the front of the desk. " but i'm definitely no gonna complain about seeing you again. hey kacey, long time, " jordan boldly flirts, eyes guiding down as he allows his gaze to meet hers. shy has never been a word to describe the man. eyes gaze over the top of a stack of a records she's sorting to see a familiar face. she knows why he's here, because he's not exact covert as he pretends to look for records for a player that he knows she doesn't have. zhani doesn't say anything about it at first because she doesn't want to stir up any kind of scene between the two of them. not in her place of business, but if she doesn't address him, then they are just going to go around in circles.

setting the records back down in the crate, she starts to move across the store, in between the aisle until she's standing next to him. her voice is still dripped in honey as she speaks to him, love for her ex still hiding beneath the surface. " you know, you don't have to hang out like a stalker if you want something. i'm your ex. i'm not the boogeyman. " her voice lighthearted even if she's not exactly sure why franklin is here in the moment. it doesn't matter. he'll ask for something, and even though she shouldn't, zhani knows she'll fold the second he flashes that smile and those brown eyes at her.

" look out! " he exclaimed as he felt his body moving without him having a thought in his head. it was all instinct, his eyes saw the prank happening, a barrel of paint about to be poured all over lacienega and he moved to shove her out the way. immediately, his body was completely coated in bright green as she tumbled away from him and every inch of him was stained a fantastic grinch tint. for a second, he's a statue, not moving as he's completely covered in goo. but after a moment, he's lifting both of his hands to wipe the stinking gunk from his eyes, gaze landing on her as people all around them run up to film and gawk at what had happened.

" are you okay? " samuel asked, voice clearly exasperated as he looked towards a woman who was more of a rival than a friend. at least, she hadn't gotten any of this gunk on her. covered in mess, he was still more concerned about laci than he was about himself.
