Lovett or Leave It is my JAM. I am like a month behind, but it is the high point of my podcast commute rotation.

i am absolutely in love with lovett tbh but last week’s episode hoo buddy oh boy one of the guests apparently didn’t get the memo that it’s a COMEDY podcast and she was talkin shit and it was so awkward

I know we haven't talked in a bit, but I hope you're doing well! I know you're active in podcast drama-type programs- what would you recommend for someone whose errs toward the nonfiction end of podcasts?

HI WOW IT SURE HAS BEEN A WHILE

ok keep in mind i’m not suuuuuper well versed in nonfiction podcasts bc 1. they usually have super long backlogs which, even though i don’t NEED to listen to every episode to catch up i always want to, and 2. i listen to so many audio dramas/d&d podcasts that i try to catch up on that i forget the nonfiction ones sometimes 

so a lot of these are podcasts i’ve subscribed to that i’ve listened to a couple episodes of 

spirits: two lovely ladies get drunk and talk mythology, sometimes with special guests!!!! they also talk tropes et al like there’s an EXCELLENT episode about the hero’s journey which i Love

my brother, my brother and me: three brothers give bad advice and answer questions from yahoo answers and are generally some of the most HILARIOUS GUYS i have EVER HEARD. they also do the adventure zone, a d&d podcast, which is some excellent goddamn storytelling and i know you err towards nonfiction but you should try it

the poetry gods: a couple of slam poets interview otherpoets and also read poetry-- they did a live recording of their second season premiere AT MY SCHOOL and i haven’t listened to the recording all the way through (since i was there) but if they didn’t edit anything out you can hear jon sands (one of the poets) spot my best friend make a ridiculous face at an intro to one of his poems, which is the closest thing to a callout i will ever get in a liveshow (i was sitting right next to them when it happened)

pod save america: got about two minutes into this but i already like it; four former speechwriters talk about politics & america

lore: MORE MYTHS AND LEGENDS i like the narrator’s voice v much and they do a whole episode about cities which is my SHIT

nonfic podcasts on my radar or in my feed that i subscribed to intending to listen but haven’t gotten to yet:

ok most of my nonfic podcast feed is the maximum fun network (which has mbmbam and the adventure zone as part of it) so tbh if you go look them up and find something that appeals to you you’ll find something good

I have married friends who got to live in their parents' lake house, free of charge, for an entire year and nobody ever gives them shit about it. I don't get what is and isn't culturally appropriate in regards to parents financially helping their adult children. I also pay everything. I'm on my dad's phone plan bc it's cheaper for all of us to be on one, but I pay him $50 a month for that. I will still be paying everything when I go back to school.
