Hey! Do you have any tips for someone who wants to start a fan blog? I was thinking of creating a LotR blog, maybe also write some fanfiction, but I have no idea how and where to start. Any tips are appreciated :D

I don’t have as many blog tips as writing tips but I do have some!

And if you want some writing tips don’t be afraid to ask me!

If you wanna create a side blog dedicated to LotR/hobbit then I would go with an aesthetic that goes with that

Also, I've noticed that you have a chance of getting more people going through your work or blog in general when you have some friends who are known in the fandom, if you start writing or posting drawings or other stuff you can ask your friends in the fandom to give you a shoutout.

my biggest tip is: reblog stuff! add comments to your reblogs! leave positive feedback in fics you read! reblog reblog reblog

it opens doors to make friends, to make someone smile, and being kind is always a magnet to attract more kind and positive people so they’ll follow you too. aesthetics pictures go a long way too! as well as posting little blurbs / cute daydreams / fluffy thoughts. follow people! send nice things on people’s inbox! be kind. always be kind. reblogging gif sets and adding thoughts on the tags is a good way to connect with people too. having a pretty theme is important too so it i busted people to look at your acc.

it really all comes down to two things: be kind and reblog.

How do you change it to say “voicemail” when someone goes to leave an ask???? I’m confused and wanna change it pls helppp

so you’ll have to do it on your desktop! but you just have to click edit your theme and you’ll be able to change your ask box to whatever you want!!

any tips on how to grow???

i honestly didn’t start growing until i became consistent in what i post! this of course isn’t saying that you have to pump out new works everyday, but it’s nice to keep your followers in the loop with what you’ve got going on!

interaction should also come naturally—it won’t happen overnight and that’s okay!

interact with other creators and honestly,,,,just have a good time and ~vibe~ and put those good vibes out there ✨💫

Do you have any tips for changing themes? You're so good at it and it makes me happy every time you do!

omg yes!! so i’m obsessed with changing themes so 💀 here’s what i do!

i like to pick a colour theme first! so if i wanna do pastel pink or beige and then from there i use pinterest

pinterest is fantastic for picking aesthetic photos for both your header and icon. what i usually search is “[colour] aesthetic” or “dark academia aesthetic” and a really good search is, for example, “beige aesthetic wallpaper” because you tend to get photos that are much more solid in their colours!

i love when my header and background colour match! and for that i use a hex colour code picker. this one is from an image so you just tap the colour you want to match!

lastly, i use tumblr sometimes for my icons, but again, i usually get them from pinterest (but remember not to use work unless otherwise specified!)

first i chose my header photo and my icon photo!

next i put my header photo into the hex colour code finder website! you get the colour code and just copy it! then you just put it altogether and choose which accent colour you like!
