“shit,  that's  not  ...”  clumsy  hands  move  to  grab  the  sheet  music  out  of  their  hands,  desperate  to  brush  it  and  its  contents  under  the  first  rug  he  can  find.  it's  humiliating  —  he'd  never  considered  himself  a  romantic,  yet  there  in  lie  his  heart  and  soul  poured  out  onto  pages.  one  second  glance  and  it  would  be  obvious,  if  his  expression  didn't  make  it  clear  enough  already.  “just  something  i'm  messing  around  with.  nothing  important.”

emi  would  suppose  this  is  payback  —  last  time  it  had  been  her  behind  the  wreckage  after  all.  still,  who  is  she  if  not  ready  to  shift  blame  when  left  alone  at  a  bar  to  watch  her  date  storm  off.  “you  can't  keep  doing  this,”  she  chides,  arms  crossing  over  chest  and  narrowing  her  eyes.  if  she  were  a  good  person,  she'd  probably  be  chasing  after  her  date  right  now.  instead,  she's  rooted  beside  a  familiar  face  and  stuck  wondering  what  was  a  game  and  what  wasn't.  “you're  buying  me  a  drink.”
