Bloor Homes all seems good!
So decide to buy a new build home, looked at several local developers and #bloorhomes looked like the best and fitted into our budget nicely. We reserved our new home after 10 years of saving in April 2017, estimated move in date July 2017, we couldn't wait.
Each weekend we would travel up to see progress on our new plot as when we reserved it was just foundations and about 3 bricks high, each weekend we traveled to take a look at progress, week after week no movement, then in late May we had a phone call to say it had been delayed........new estimated move in date was August 2017, not too bad we thought, also were called in to complete our extra’s. happy times :)
each weekend we went to see progress, all of a sudden we had walls, then a roof all within a few weeks, we were so excited we could finally see progress and it looked like we could have possibly moved in earlier than first thought.
Each weekend we could see more progress, lights on, boiler exhaust in, painters things in the window, not long now. We couldn’t get close enough due to the perimeter fencing, #bloorhomes weekly update showed the house next door to us were due to move in this weekend, finally we would be able to get right close up to the house and look through the windows. Sure enough that weekend the fences came down and we finally got to look inside our house, we could see the nice new kitchen, the oak doors we had chosen, all the family excited that it wasn't long now!
The day came, we got our 10 day notice, move in 31/08/2017 whoop whoop!!!!
We arranged to do our what we thought was pre-move in snagging/home demo. Upon arriving the site manager informs us that #bloorhomes have changed their policy and today is just a home demo, so there are no carpets, we go around following the site manager as he shows us our new home, almost every room we go into we notice at least 1 minor defect, pointing these out and the site manager assures me they will be addressed as they have their final inspection and snagging to finish. We go outside, i notice some of the brickwork is a little from my perception “poor”. Site Manager assures me it will be fine and they will fix it at the 10 day snag.
We took one last visit before move in, looking through the windows carpets finally in and its all looking good.
Move in day arrives, we get the call off our solicitor, we have completed!!! congratulations go and collect your keys from the sales reception. we eagerly rush to the #bloorhomes sales office and the sales lady shows us up to the new property and the site manager that did our home demo the week previous is waiting for us. we take receipt of the keys and the site manager shows us the meter readings, turns out that the water/gas and electric meter readings are incorrect. way lower than the actual reading, seems like an honest mistake and we continue.
and so the move in begins
