Rational thoughts me: oh, yes, what’s happening in the news can effect the fic people write, like other cultural surroundings! It makes sense that people are processing/getting ideas/getting ideas off each other and so we see this uptick in ‘Anitam invades somewhere’ as a plot point. And naturally while real-life invasions are horrific and focus should be on those on the ground, in fanfic-.

Fanfic-reading thoughts me: yes good give me these “we have a giant orbital laser/super genetically enhanced greys/radio control of all insects/whatever” ‘negotiation speeches’ I would like many more of those thank you.

Well, if isn’t the season of ‘I am such and such blue’s secret lover and they paid for me to get a credit and have their secret baby!’ fic. 

(Or, depending on what you’re into, ‘I am such and such blue’s secret child and they’re paying for me to have a credit and have their secret grandbaby’, of course!)

So in fic this is actually not so much my thing, mostly because my description->image mapping really doesn’t run at all. I just end up staring going ‘so what was it again’, or just skimming past.

Fanart is great though! And tv, and public appearances, of course. (You know what’s hot? Robes; those are hot.)

Anyway, obviously the reason I support the Voan system is that in a credits country [Voan blue who was fired from things due to incompetence or a scandal or something] would never have gotten a second kid, and we never would have gotten to hear [that Voan blue’s second child]’s fucking voice.

Oh my purity, people, when you read a blue rpf fic about how Isel Alamet and Shasali Aven seduced [important Voan blue]’s [daughter/grandaughter as age appropriate] and this is why Voa is doing cleaning, this does not mean that this is something that happened and you’ve stumbled on the ‘dark secret’, it means you are reading a fic. 

If you can’t keep that straight, why are you even reading here.
