State and Madison at The Firebird 01-29-11
Last minute show for me? Well kinda.
State and Madison show day went something like this:
-work til 7:30
-grab some quick dinner with Andrea.
-haul ass to the Firebird
-watch State and Madison's set.
-chit chat with Bert and the State guys for a few.
-cringe while watching Equal Squeeze.
-go home and call it an early night.
Annnnd that basically sums it up. I really liked State and Madison's set. I go through phases with them. Sometimes I'll really like their sets and sometimes I think to myself "wow, I know I've seen them play better than that." I guess that happens with any band, though. Oh and can I just mention how weird it was seeing them play without Tony? Weiiiiird. Alex from the Noise FM filled in and he was great, I've just never seen them without Tony there.
Oh and can I just say how hysterical I think it is that Andrea STILL doesn't know everyone's name in the band? Really Andrea? We've been seeing them live for 5 years now. Sheesh. At this show, she named Mark: blue sweater guy. Gotta love bffs. :)
