Ingredients: 1 lb ground turkey. 4 slices of bacon. 1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese. 1 large onion, thinly sliced. 2 tablespoons maple syrup. 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard. 4 hamburger buns. Salt and pepper to taste. Olive oil for cooking.
Instructions: Preheat your grill or stovetop pan over medium-high heat. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, salt, and pepper. Form the mixture into 4 burger patties. Cook the bacon in a separate pan until it's crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels. In the same pan you used for the bacon, add a little olive oil and cook the sliced onions over medium heat until they become soft and caramelized, about 5-7 minutes. Stir in the maple syrup and Dijon mustard with the onions. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the onions are coated and the mixture is heated through. Remove from heat. Grill the turkey burger patties for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they are cooked through and have nice grill marks. During the last minute of cooking, top each patty with a portion of crumbled blue cheese and cover the grill to melt the cheese. Toast the hamburger buns on the grill for a minute or two until they are lightly browned. Assemble the burgers by placing each turkey patty with melted blue cheese on a bun, topping with a slice of bacon, and a generous spoonful of the maple-mustard onions. Serve your delicious Turkey Burgers with Bacon, Blue Cheese, and Maple-Mustard Onions hot and enjoy!
