so, things hadn’t worked out between the two of them. did that really have to be such a big deal? did that really have to make things… awkward? maybe it wouldn’t have felt that way if they had simply left their relationship as it was after they had broken up as teenagers, in fact, billie was almost positive that they’d have a better chance of being on good terms right now if she hadn’t ruined things by going back on her word and propositioning him again after she had dropped out of college. she wasn’t proud of that moment- but she wasn’t ashamed of it either. in short, billie was just frustrated, and confused, and in desperate need of someone like bo right now.
life in shrike heights was hard, that much had been clear for quite some time now. life in general was hard, and the addition of serial killers was far from something that helped or made anything at all easier. billie was scared, and the fear wasn’t something she could easily deal with right now as she had so much on her plate when it came to her personal life in particular. that was why someone like bo was on her list of people she wished to be able to reconnect with. they shared quite a bit in common, but fundamentally he was so different from her; bo was positive, uplifting, charming, easy going and so much fun. billie didn’t expect that out of bo right now with everything he had been through, but she still missed him, even if it turned out he was completely and understandably changed.
billie just needed someone. that was the fact of the matter, and of course bo came to mind as she had been left disappointed by how they ended up. it was hard shooting her shot, even in a completely platonic manner, but her desperation was stronger than her reservation and that was how she ended up at the showtime counter with no intentions to take any videos home. “hey, i just wanted to bring you this comic.” she greeted, the comic book she handed over being a peace offering of sorts - though she’d never say it. “i heard you asking about it the other day, and we finally got it in so i thought… why not just bring it over? i saw you were working earlier, so…” she smiled, trying to overcome the awkwardness she felt. there was no reason to feel so awkward around bo, really.
