The artistic documentary film Sculture nel tempo wants to reveal how sculptures in public space relate to the element of time, using the oeuvre of Belgian artist Philip Van Isacker.
Through the making of the documentary, we investigate how we can talk about images in and with images. ‘Showing’ and ‘looking’ are central concepts in the approach. Filming and editing are designed experimentally through try-outs, in search of the right documentary tone. We strive for a layered audio-visual work, in which explanation, poetry and abstraction interact. In this way, we want to explore through practice the limits and possibilities of such a documentary as a discursive medium.
Sculture nel tempo is a project by Dany Deprez and Jan Peeters, in collaboration with former colleague Philip Van Isacker and alumnus Bob Mees.
