Being a Blues fan, especially in St. Louis, Bob Plager is one of the first people you learn about. Not merely one of the first players, but PEOPLE. He meant more to this team and city than his playing career ever could or would (and he was certainly not the worst player on the ice all those years either).
This is probably the biggest loss to the city of St. Louis since Stan. He was so much more than what he was on the ice, or in the front office. Anyone who is anyone who ever played for this team since will tell you the same.
There's a reason why he was always called "number 5 in the programs, but number one in our hearts." And he always will be.
Thank you for everything.
Bob Plager took the cup to his late brother/teammate Barclays grave and made a toast saying it was for all of the late Blues players that aren't here to celebrate.
Happy 2 year anniversary to the St. Louis Blues winning there first cup in franchise history. Ryan O'Reilly was the MVB and the Buffalo Sabres got there karma. We love and miss you Bob Plager
Two years just flew by
