Hello!! I saw you reblogged the oc ask game, so I'd like to ask 🎵🕑💢💔🧭💡 about Bobo, please! If that's too many, then just the ones you want to do!
🎵 What would your OCs favorite song(s) be?
🕑 What time does your OC generally wake up at?
💢 What's one thing that's sure to piss off your OC?
💔 Have they ever experienced heartbreak?
🧭How easily can they find their way? Do they get lost easily?
💡 What's an idea that they once had that made others go "That's not gonna work," but it still worked?
Thank you!
🎵What would Bobo's favorite song be?
I'd say it's the first song she heard from Baentu, which I give a little snippet in Baentu's ref. Gosh I still need to set something up before I feel like I can share Baentu. Which so far is mostly resting on me actually designing the man-eating beasts in the Mycelind Kingdom but I just haven't yet. (I think it's mostly because finding the refs I want takes longer now as I have to consider if what I'm looking at it ai-generated or not.)
I only have a few words of the song as I'm not musically-inclined. My idea being behind it that it's a heartbreak song but Baentu's aludes to it not really being one, just a bit of poking fun at love songs, break up songs, and such as Baentu's aroace. Don't know if I can actually get that idea across if I ever do attempt to write the lyrics. Which would be all I'd be able to do, I can only roughly read sheet music. I'm thinking it would be in the rock/metal genre with some screamo elements. (Keep in mind my grasp of music genres is kind of weak.)
Actually these two songs are what inspired/caused me to base what type of music Bobo likes. Sun Killer by Spiritbox and Promise by Voyager. (text links are to youtube videos)
🕑 What time does Bobo generally wake up at?
I actually still haven't figured out her schedule- I want to be wild and say 4 am but really I should plan out what her schedule usually looks like so I can have an actual answer.
Okay I penned up a rough idea of what her schedule could be and I hope it's not realistic and that I can fine-tune it because I have it suggesting to me that Bobo does wake up at 4am and goes to bed around 11pm. Which would be roughly 5 hours of sleep... which again we pulling into the fantasy/videogame logics as how can someone survive years of so little sleep? Adults are supposed to get at least 8 hours of sleep (unless they have lucky genetics) and anyone younger tends to need more sleep than that.
I know she's going to have several different schedules for different days too as I didn't cover international affairs, working out, fight practice, time to visit Baentu, and such. Actually I should try figuring out what all the government official positions would be and that might help me better fine-tune her schedules. I know I have ideas for their being councils to handle certain parts of the government.
Twst Bobo should take advantage of her situation and let herself get more sleep but she doesn't want to struggle with fixing her schedule if she ever does get back home. Plus she can use all the free time for studying (like geez Grim and MC must have terrible grades as surely it's like them skipping middle school and going straight to high school) and for getting to try things she never had time for before. Like woodcarving, painting, and with some outside encouragement, video games.
So uh, tldr: Bobo has a habit of waking up at 4 am.
💢 What's one thing that's sure to piss off Bobo?
Poking fun of the people from her kingdom. Trying to suggest that her kingdom isn't made up of humans or that they're all freaks. Along with just not taking the threats her kingdom faces all that seriously. Calling her a child, immature, someone incapable of running a kingdom. Also just disrespecting boundaries, whether that be her own or the others' around her. She's also a sore loser.
For example, Twst Bobo will snap if someone won't stop trying to touch her face. Most likely this type of provocation will cause her to physically lash out, whether that just be slapping a hand away or trying to squeeze someone's fingers with the idea to break them before snapping out of it. I know already that when it comes to VDC, Bobo cries out of anger that NRC loses. She's quite loyal so despite thinking the song Vil commissioned is generic and lame, that's her team! Bobo then holds a grudge against Neige, but I can't see her actually lashing out at him as he's depicted as so nice. So she'd probably just come off as grumpy in Neige's presence.
Basically Bobo has a temper that can flare up when it comes to pitting herself and those she cares about against something/someone else. Otherwise she tends to be able to keep it under control. If her temper breaks, she's usually able to reclaim control over herself rather quick. Usually she attempts to deal with her anger when she works out. Sometimes she gets way too invested in competitions and losing will upset her greatly.
💔 Have they ever experienced heartbreak?
Well I do have it planned than in her adult years that she'll probably have a few failed relationships, so I would think that counts? So she never really experienced any in her childhood. The closest she got in childhood was having a little kid crush on a rock-metal idol. Which of course didn't progress further than that. Though I suppose that just covers romantic heartbreak. I've usually only heard heartbreak when speaking of romantic feelings.
She was definitely heartbroken when her parents suddenly died when she was just eight-years-old. I think I have heard heartbreak being used in terms of familial bonds. Bobo had nightmares for quite a while when they died and actually couldn't sleep without a couple of plushies too. I haven't decided if the plushies are bats or goats. Eventually she did stop having nightmares but it took a little longer for her to no longer need the plushies to be able to fall asleep.
🧭 How easily can they find their way? Do they get lost easily?
That's a bit of a tough one to answer. Bobo does like to explore when she can, but she's grown up with tech that she's never had to worry about not having a signal. Tech that's set up to alert guards to her last location if it were to die or something were to go wrong. It's hard to say she can get lost when her kingdom's version of a phone/tablet can easily guide her back.
I do want to say she won't get lost all that easily as she has a rather great memory. So she takes notes of certain landmarks to give her a vague idea of the path she's taking and thus can backtrack if needed. Though if she were to fall somewhere with no easy way back up, then Bobo could possibly get lost. Especially easier for her to get lost if everything looks the same. With her eyesight, landmarks are usually certain glowing mushrooms and/or something that stands out in color.
💡 What's an idea that they once had that made others go "That's not gonna work," but it still worked?
I have several ideas and points for what Bobo's life may be like, mostly her childhood, but I haven't thought out too many specific stories. So I don't know if she's ever had a crazy plan that worked out. I feel like characters that are able to pull off wild stunts are usually ones that think outside of the box and/or not considered someone who thinks rationally/reasonably.
I'd like to think Bobo is quite reasonable. Even if she were to give an idea that causes others to doubt, she'd likely explain it until others can see what she sees. Also she likes to have others understand any of her plans so they can help correct any bits or give better ideas if they have them. If it is a wild idea that others may doubt, she might not even give others a chance to hear what the idea is.
Like the only one I can think of that counts would be the alt-route I wrote for Twst's Phantom Bride event. Bobo wasn't confident her idea would work, but she was certain that at the very least it could buy them all more time.
I was originally going to do a drawing of her on her throne since I had two different references for her, then upon realizing what was bothering me with the new and color corrected one I also realized I can just trace some of the elements of the older ref on as there's no real need to color them in.
Bobo is the princess of an underground mushroom kingdom. For her story I will be going to different points in her life, not sure where I may focus on the most. She took over all royal responsibilities for running her kingdom at a rather young age when her parents suddenly died when she was just eight-years-old.
There's still some aspects I'm figuring out kingdom wise, but the underground mushroom kingdom has its own unique customs while I plan the aboveground mushroom kingdom to follow the more classically known royalty tropes. The underground mushroom kingdom is known as the Mycelind Kingdom. The royal family takes their last name to be the same as the kingdom's name.
In the Mycelind Kingdom the differences between Princess and Queen is simply being married or not. Everyone that is part of the royal family partakes and helps in running the kingdom. It was planned for Bobo to have siblings and her parents were trying for more kids. Unfortunately an incident that even the doctors don't fully understand how it happened caused Bobo's parents to pass away in their sleep one night.
Bobo was never allowed to see her parents that day. Not only did her caretakers not want her to see the sight, but doctors weren't certain if it was safe for anyone to get too close to the bodies. Health has always been taken quite seriously in the kingdom. With the amount of fungi occupying the same underground caverns as the kingdom, at the very least everyone wears gloves. Everyone is taught how to identify the many different mushrooms before they even learn to walk and talk. When coming across an unknown and new mushroom, air-filtering masks are worn.
Okay time to refocus myself as a good amount of this is about the kingdom and should go into its own post.
-
Before the age of 8, Bobo was a rather carefree kid. She would constantly pester her caretakers for sweets. They were always weak to her cute pouts and give in. She was never allowed into the kitchen herself. With her constantly eating sweets she would usually get sugar highs and run about the castle. When she would eventually sugar crash, one of her caretakers would take her to her parents.
One of her fonder memories is getting to sleep on her parents' laps while they addressed the public during the time of day the public were invited into the castle to speak any concerns they have straight to the royalty themselves.
After losing her parents at the age of 8, the Grand Mycorl took over temporarily. She stopped eating sweets, now finding the idea of them nauseating. She also started needing stuffed toys to be tucked into bed with her in order to get any sleep. Bobo started having the Grand Mycorl prepare her for taking over. He would arrange lessons for her, but for the first two years after her parent's death she would have to prompt him into giving her lessons. The Grand Mycorl didn't want such a young girl have to worry about running the kingdom.
Her caretakers along with summons from her sister kingdom would help keep Bobo somewhat busy. She would learn how to play the grand piano along with how to waltz. Her summons would cause her to form a bond with Princess Penelope and the two would learn the balance of taking jabs at each other without going far enough to risk waging war. Bobo hates having to deal with Penelope, especially since Penelope wants Bobo to act in accordance to her customs instead of Mycelind's.
At age ten she started getting regular lessons along with starting to learn how to sword fight. (The need for this will be explained with the kingdom overall info post.) She turned most of her time into preparing to run the kingdom, barely giving herself time to do anything else. When she wasn't taking lessons, she would be training her body for fighting.
At age eleven and a successful intervention from her caretakers, Bobo started to find interest in other things. She started learning how to ride a motorcycle, how to swim, and even went to a concert. At said concert she developed a big fat crush on the kingdom's rock/metal idol, Baentu. Since she's the kingdom's princess, the idol was willing to see her after the concert. Bobo would end up learning how to sing and play several instruments from Baentu while gradually losing the crush, much to the idol's relief. (Kids sometimes have dumb one-sided crushes on adults. These should never be reciprocated. If anything it ends up being a learning experience to Bobo.)
Soon after she turned 12 Bobo would insist to take over the throne. The Grand Mycorl gave in, believing her to be ready while also reminding her she can always call on him for help. Bobo would struggle with her schedule for a bit until learning how to properly balance it. Though perhaps not a purely healthy balance as she would end up with not enough time to get a proper night's rest, but would make up for some of her missed sleep by gaining the ability to nap anywhere. With time her napping became a bit of a special trick as she seemed to wake up whenever she needed to while still being able to sleep through loud moments that didn't need her to do anything.
Bobo would be gifted a custom-made war-hammer that weighed about 300 pounds at her thirteen birthday. Increasing her physical training a bit, Bobo reached the point of wielding the hammer with ease, as if it weighed nothing. On days she would go exploring and diving into water, she would bring a sword instead. A sword being much easier to navigate water with.
Then there would be times where she would question if she should be looking for a spouse. She may only be a teenager, but if something happens to her then the kingdom would be left with no one to rule. While there may be fail-safes in place for such a situation, she couldn't help but feel she should prevent that from happening if she can. She brought this up once while she was 15 to her council just for her to be visited by the Mycorl who tried to make it very clear to her that the kingdom is not going to have her marry young. Though perhaps didn't get his point properly across as she then believed she wasn't allowed to even date until reaching adulthood.
Despite the Mycorl wanting her not to stress so much, Bobo tends to avoid reaching out to him for help and even has the idea in her mind that once she's an adult she should get married as soon as possible. Royalty may not rule the kingdom all alone as there are councils and jobs for running specific things, Bobo can't help the massive amount of pressure and responsibility that she feels.
It gets to be too much at times where she will lose her temper or even at times feel guilty for wanting to abandon the royal name. After all, any born royal is allowed to drop the kingdom name and become a normal citizen. Bobo only holds on as she wants to make sure the kingdom does well, that her parents' efforts don't go to waste. She wants to make her parents' proud.
(Sorry about the laziness. I'm still waking up, lol)
💉 - How fond are they about needles? (Op of the oc asks really used the word fond? Who's fond of needles?? I would think at best one can tolerate or is indifferent to them... unless I were to say Xia-lin loves needles but only in sticking them in other people /j)
Bobo's indifferent to needles. She doesn't care too much for them, but she has no issue with them if she does need a needle for any medical reason.
(Probably lucky and doesn't even feel needle injections which apparently everyone around me irl but me has such luck. I hate needles. Though a couple of years ago I found the best way for me to not feel/minimize feeling anything is to have it shot-gunned into me. Like just done really fast.)
✏️ - Do they write? If so, what kind(s)? Creative, journaling, etc.
The format of this question makes me want to think the question is asking if the oc writes for any fun manner; or even doing something like calligraphy, again for fun.
Bobo does not journal or write creatively or anything like that. The closest she gets to it is when she has to handwrite letters to the kingdom above her own. They insist that Bobo handwrite them and it sometimes takes longer than she'd like as she makes sure her handwriting is super neat and easily readable. Because if it isn't, the royals from the other kingdom will basically nag her about it.
Usually Bobo types things on a device with the occasional screen-touch written/drawn? signature. Though she also does at times write, her handwriting is readable, but a bit messy and rushed looking. With all the paperwork she reads through, Bobo has no interest in any creative form of writing. She's tired of looking at blocks of text.
🛍 - What’s their fashion taste(s)?
(I know like the name of some fashion styles, but not enough to actually name any of them for any of my characters. Unless it's business casual or lolita or gothic.)
Bobo has a preference for bright, cheerful clothes like blue and yellow. She often wears a red-orange color though as that's the Mycelind royal color. Not really a necessity for their royalty to wear, but she takes her job so seriously that she chooses to wear it anyway. If she can, she'll never wear a majority of the color white as that's the other kingdom's royal color. Her gloves do tend to be white as that's her personal preference on telling how clean her gloves are.
Bobo prefers dresses, skirts, and skorts. She often wears light-weight shorts or something similar underneath her skirt for modesty. Though really the chances of seeing under her skirt would usually only be in battle I would think and I'd think the fight itself would be too distracting to even notice. Just in case though.
Due to her kingdom's climate, Bobo does go with shorter wear, like short-sleeves and/or no sleeves. I'm actually a bit torn on how to dress her during her childhood as while I know what modesty would be like for the kingdom, I'm concerned of it coming off as inappropriate for kids. Like in-universe it's probably no big deal, but online irl I worry about gaining the attention of creeps.
So childhood Bobo's probably dressed more modest, while adult Bobo might not be? I actually haven't experimented with what adult Bobo's outfits may look like now that I think about it. Like I've decided what adult Bobo's hairstyle will be and I'm sure her outfit will be similar to her childhood ones. Anyway-
Bobo quite likes frills and cutesy looks. Her preference for skirts doesn't mean she hates pants though. She's willing to wear pants and prefers pants that has some frills or a semi-skirt to it.
Twst Bobo is a bit different as she's in a different climate that she's not used to. In Twisted Wonderland Bobo is constantly feeling cold so she's usually in full uniform to try to fight the coldness. She's also limited in clothing options so she doesn't get to show off her style much. I have her tie her tie as a bow like Riddle and Epel do as partially as that's what she prefers and partially because she's never tied a tie before.
I also gave her a grey shirt instead of white as Vil has a grey shirt which suggests to me that school uniform shirts don't have to strictly be white. If Bobo has options, she will avoid white. Only her gloves get to be white. (So of course the fairy gala outfits are basically majority white and I do plan to draw her in one of her own at some point.)
While Bobo does prefer skirts, Twst Bobo won't even look for them. She's used to mid-length/short skirts which would be too cold for her liking. She leans more for pants in Twisted Wonderland.
I do have a fan oc for twst named Lance that I've made mostly as an excuse to give Twst Bobo some more clothes. Though Bobo just takes whatever she can have, not feeling like she has much right to ask for any specifics. Especially as Lance doesn't seem to know how to take proper breaks along with him giving her stuff for free.
Hi there! Sorry I disappeared for a bit lol 😅 I have another question about Bobo, if you don't mind.
How much knowledge does Bobo have on basic medical practice? Does she know more than the basics? Does she know any sort of medicine?
Thank you!
Whenever it's been a while since moots have had any activity, I always wonder if I should reach out or not. Like sometimes I'm not much in the mood for posting so it could always just be something like that. I'm bad at socializing...
I have been contemplating how much Bobo would know about medicine. I feel like she doesn't know as much as she would like, but she knows enough to keep someone stable until a medical professional can tend to that someone.
Like she knows basic first aid, how to stop bleeding, how to prevent infection, how to give cpr and the heimlich maneuver to help someone who's choking. I'm thinking in the Mycelind Kingdom they actually have special washable gloves for food prep and medical care. (Washable/reusable so it doesn't just get thrown away.) Medical-grade gloves are often packed in first aid kits, but Twst Bobo doesn't have that. So she's more likely to shed her gloves when it comes to aid since her hands should be cleaner than her gloves.
She understands how to stitch up a wound, but Bobo has likely never done that before. Bobo wants to know more about medicine but only really has what would be needed to know to care for someone who's been injured, most likely in battle while protecting her.
I hope that's good enough? I'm not very medically knowledgeable myself, but if there's a more specific scenario that this didn't really answer, feel free to send another ask or a dm!
I've got some more Bobo questions, if you don't mind!
1: Would she drink coffee or energy drinks?
2: Would she fall asleep in the company of someone she doesn't know very well?
3: Does she eat mushrooms or just grow them?
4: How would she react to something super sour/ spicy?
5: Does she enjoy tea?
6: What are her opinions on quiet music? Like lofi or soft violins or that sort of thing?
And 7: How well does she understand figures of speech?
Thanks!
I do enjoy questions about my ocs as sometimes I get stuff I haven't necessarily thought of before. Like number 4.
1: Bobo wouldn't drink either. She avoids anything that could give her "artificial" energy such as a high dosage of caffeine. She prefers feeling in control of herself at all times. This would also mean that upon reaching the drinking age, she wouldn't have alcohol either.
I'm not sure artificial is the right word. Just stuff that may make her jittery or have a hard time staying still or even affect her ability to sleep such as having too much caffeine. I think some teas might have a lot of caffeine? Small amounts of caffeine can actually help with headaches, I think.
2: If it's someone she doesn't quite know but doesn't think they're a threat, she might nap around them. Usually Bobo finds most people as not a threat, used to danger usually coming from beasts. She does have the uncanny ability to wake up when needed to. If it's someone she despises and doesn't trust at all, then she won't let herself nap.
Though with her being in Twisted Wonderland, the first few books she won't nap around anyone she doesn't quite know unless she has a friend nearby.
3: Mushrooms are practically in every dish in the Mycelind Kingdom and growing them is a common practice too for several different reasons. Bobo does know how to grow mushrooms and upon being in Twisted Wonderland, eating mushrooms is a bit of a comfort to her.
She actually sets aside a room in Ramshackle to grow mushrooms with Jade along with being his taste tester. Though Bobo always checks what mushrooms Jade uses first. She knows which mushrooms are safe to eat and in what ways they're safe. She also wont let Jade grow any dangerous shrooms at Ramshackle.
4: I think Bobo would prefer super sour over super spicy. I don't think she'd necessarily seek out either, but if it's a dish served to her, she'd prefer the sour one. Being from a kingdom that's constantly hot, it's best to avoid anything that could make her excessively sweat. She slightly favors sour, but I think it might just be that she wants something super sour every now and then. As for spicy, she will avoid. Might freak out if it's super spicy as her mind is going to jump to the possibility of dehydrating.
A quick google search does tell me that there are real world mushrooms that are considered spicy. Quick search suggests that there are real world mushrooms that are sour as well. Add in the mushrooms I plan to make up for the kingdom, Mycelind Kingdom probably covers a good range of flavors. They do also have access to meat and dairy, though Bobo isn't the biggest fan of meat. Considering the beasts she slays are usually turned into food for the kingdom, she prefers not to have meat.
5: I'd say she's indifferent to it. Though probably has a preference to caffeine-free iced teas. She's used to having tea as that's a common beverage that her sister kingdom would give her upon visits. Bobo isn't really the type to ask for a different drink or food, as she's usually content with whatever's given to her.
Though in Twisted Wonderland I do think she might start to seek out having tea as Sage's Island probably feels cold compared to her kingdom. I think she likes the fruity teas the most. Anything with rich flavor that may be unique to her, for anything meal/drink related would be what she gravitates towards.
6: I'd say ballroom dancing music tends to bore her. She prefers music with some energy to it. If it's something soft like lo-fi that's playing in the background, she probably be fine with it. Unless it's supposed to be a gathering of people, then she's going to feel like she's stuck at another boring ball.
Actually if it's soft music in the background while she's having a one-on-one conversation with someone, if the conversation stops the music might just lull her into a nap. So I'd say she won't throw a fit over it, but it can aggravate her sleepiness and sometimes boredom.
7: That's somewhat tricky to answer. I'd say it all depends on if that's a saying that exists in the Mycelind Kingdom or not. I am trying to compile a list of Mycelind Kingdom versions of idioms. The possible problem I see with that is if any websites I look at don't list a common idiom that I fail to think of.
For example in Mycelind instead of saying "To hell with it" they say "To the rot with it". I'm heavily leaning towards there being little to no religion in the kingdom, so they've never heard of things as Angels, Heaven, Demons, and what not. (Though I suppose that might just mean no christian religions. One of these days I'll figure out how to learn about other religions without having to worry about how accurate the info is.)
Keep in mind that the Mycelind Kingdom is an underground kingdom with lots of mushrooms and little to no knowledge of the surface world. Their sister kingdom has basically kept the underground kingdom isolated from the rest of the world.
If you want, you could ask or dm me about specific sayings and I can let you know if Bobo would know them or not.
Princess Bobo, fifteen years old, sat upon her usual bench upon her quarterly visit to the kingdom above hers. Princess Penelope, nineteen years old, had just arrived to the castle’s restricted garden. Only a few minutes late, but those few minutes were enough to whittle away at Bobo’s calm facade. Any remaining attempt of holding a cordial face was dropped to pure annoyance as Penelope didn’t even greet her.
“Ugh,” Penelope groaned as she sat down on her favorite bench, “Why do you keep showing up here?”
“…” Bobo gaped, her brow furrowed at such a ridiculous question. “I would have thought you knew. Don’t tell me it’s taken years for you to realize you have no idea why we meet up.”
“Oh shut up.” Penelope rolled her eyes. “You do realize our meetings are pointless, right? My parents are the ones in charge. I hold no power. The only reason you meet with me is because my parents don’t see you as a true ruler. You’re just a child in their eyes.”
“…It… I do find it annoying to be called up here just to only see you. I’m quite aware that your parents don’t see me as an equal.” Bobo huffed. “Yet I still choose to come up here for a reason, Penelope.” Bobo leaned forward slightly, trying to spot revelation cross the blonde’s face. Penelope’s face stayed in its grouchy frown as the older girl fought to keep herself in perfect posture. Bobo let out a sigh.
“Princess Penelope, eventually you’ll become Queen. As ruler of the Mycelind Kingdom, I figure it’s important to forge a friendly bond with you. So while I rarely see your parents, the current rulers in which I’m supposed to have quarterly meetings with, I choose to stay and see you.” Bobo explained before reaching for a cup of tea.
“Oh please, you’re not one to be a kiss-up!” Penelope snapped, surprising the younger girl. Bobo withdrew her hand from the round garden table that separated them. Penelope stood up and slapped her hands onto the table, causing the refreshments sitting upon it to rattle.
“You only sit and tolerate me because my parents tell you too! It’s absolutely ridiculous! You get to pretend to be Queen of your kingdom while my parents won’t let me handle anything!” Penelope threw her hands up into the air before crossing her arms.
“…Pretend?” Bobo balled her hands as she refused to let herself stand up. “I am Princess and sole ruler of my kingdom! I may not agree with how your kingdom works in regards to such things, but just because you aren’t getting your way doesn’t give you the right to lash out at me.”
“Oh? What are you going to do about it, huh?” Penelope taunted and moved around the garden table to get closer. “Make another empty warning of war? Do you know how laughable that is? What is Mycelind going to do if it destroys its only ally and protector? Like you even could. Maybe next time there’s an invasion here, I’ll call you up and have them kidnap you. Or maybe I’ll just open the gate and let all those horrible mages right into your magic-defenseless kingdom.” Penelope taunted as she leaned towards the younger princess.
“You say that as if you have enough defenses with just one royal mage.” Bobo grumbled as she angled her head away from Penelope’s face. “I appreciate your… protection. Still, I could declare war. And as Princess, it’ll be your fault for failing to keep things civil.”
“Well, what if I declare war?!” Penelope reared back, an angry flush starting to color her delicately pale face.
“You don’t have that ability.” Bobo looked at her upon receiving some personal space. “You’d have to bring up the motion with your parents. Then I’m sure they’d want to hear from both of us.”
“I- you- Augh! I hate you! I’ll never like you! So stop wasting both of our time and stay in the ground where you belong!!” Penelope screamed. Bobo felt her restraint thin at that.
“Wasting both of our time?! Well I’ll admit it always feels like a waste of time coming up here! But it’s rather rich to hear you think it’s a waste of your time! All you do is complain about how you aren’t Queen yet and how you have nothing to do! If you actually cared, you’d find a way, find something to do!” Bobo yelled as she stood to her feet.
Penelope grabbed at a cup of tea and threw its contents at Bobo. The younger girl raised her arms in a defensive manner yet blinked at just feeling the warm liquid splash her. Penelope looked smug, like as if she had done something significant.
“Are… you… serious?” Bobo practically hissed as she seethed. “I thought you were going to actually hit me! Actually do something of consequence! Do you think a possible stain means anything?! Do you have any idea what I go through?! What actual meaningful action is?! No wonder you sit around and complain about not ruling, you absolute bimbo!” Bobo snatched the cup out of Penelope’s hand. Yet before she could even raise it, the fragile thing shattered in her fist. Penelope simply scowled, unaware of what Bobo almost did.
“So barbaric. You get angry and the first thought in your mind is to get violent?” Penelope turned to start walking away. Bobo took a step after her, but stopped as she recognized the sickly sticky feeling coming from her hand.
“Princess Penelope, Princess Bobo, I heard yelling. Do you two need more tea?” Bobo vaguely registered the young man’s voice as she slowly opened her fist. Her gaze drawn down as she watched the fine porcelain shard fell from her hand. She hadn’t even really realized that any part of the tea cup had been trapped in her hold.
“Actually, Princess Bobo and me have just wrapped up our meeting. If you’ll excuse me, I have somewhere to be.” Penelope’s voice faintly reached Bobo’s ears. The older girl not looking back once as she left the restricted garden. Bobo stared at her own ripped glove, watching the white fabric grow more and more red.
She had slipped up. She had made a mistake. What if her parent made a similar mistake and only realized too late? Could she head back home with her skin torn open? The path… the path… is it safe? Is it clear? When was the last time it was checked for that strain of mycelium?
“Princess Bobo.” The young man’s voice rang clearly before the feeling of his hand on her shoulder forced her out of her spiraling, panicking thoughts. Bobo gasped as she stepped back, clenching her hand closed and cradling it to her chest.
“Mage Maus.” Bobo frowned and took another step back. The twenty-one year old gave a worried frown. He reached for her wrist.
“You’re injured? Let me see.” Maus softly asked yet Bobo practically jumped away from his reach.
“No. Don’t touch me.” Bobo growled, regaining her senses. She turned around and headed to the garden’s gate. “I accidentally broke a cup snd stained a glove is all.” The path is always checked regularly. At least once a week to make sure it’s clean snd structurally sound. It’s silly to fret. It wouldn’t take long to get home, her wound treated, and her glove replaced. This small mistake wont be a risk to her own life.
Maus watched her leave before turning his attention towards the porcelain bits amongst the grass.

Princess Bobo stood inside one of her sister kingdom’s castle, facing the King and Queen. Instead of being seated in a nice garden with refreshments, Bobo stood. No seat offered nor available to her as the sun blared through the tall, spacious windows, practically blinding her. The only seats available were two thrones, currently occupied by the previously mentioned royalty. No sign of their only heir, making Bobo wonder if the Princess even knew of this meeting.
Only three days had passed since her and Penelope’s meeting. Bobo probably shouldn’t have been surprised to have received summons to see the King and Queen.
“Princess Bobo,” The King spoke, “We’ve heard that you were injured after having a screaming match with Princess Penelope.” Bobo lowered her head, hoping it looked more apologetic than sheepish as her cheeks warmed.
“I’m sorry. I lost my temper at Penelope.” Bobo could bring up how the girl had started it. She could mention how awful Penelope had been, but she shouldn’t have let anything Penelope said or done affect her so.
“Did Princess Penelope strike you?” The Queen asked. Penelope had never really hid her hatred towards her. It was foolish to let herself nearly strike the girl. It would only prove Penelope right if she had done so. Which might as well had happen since the only reason it didn’t was because the cup broke before she could.
“No. Princess Penelope… she shared that she holds some frustrations about not being able to help. Help you two with ruling your kingdom. I… I misunderstood her and got frustrated… in my frustration I mishandled my cup of tea.” Bobo answered, lifting her gaze to stare into the Queen’s crystal-blue eyes.
“We’ve heard you stormed away.” The King replied. “Losing your temper and dismissing yourself… You still have a long ways to go.”
“…I… know…” Bobo forced the words to come out clearly.
“I want you to go to the garden and make up with Princess Penelope.” The Queen stated. If being ordered like a misbehaving child wasn’t bad enough, Bobo saw Mage Maus step out from behind a pillar.
“Please let me escort you, Princess Bobo.” Maus moved smoothly towards her, offering his arm. Bobo glared at his arm before turning around to lead herself out. The royal mage quietly followed behind, making her more tense as she struggled to make out his footsteps.
Upon arriving in the shaded garden, Bobo saw Penelope toying with the refreshments at the table. Before she could guess if Penelope had possibly brought them over herself or was simply fiddling with them, Maus called out.
“Princess Penelope, I’ve brought Princess Bobo to see you.” He stepped past Bobo, nearly brushing against her if she hadn’t leaned out of reach. Penelope looked over, her baby-blue eyes sparkling upon seeing the young royal mage.
“Mage Maus!” Penelope chirped as she bounced her way over to him. Bobo kept from rolling her eyes. It seemed the Princess would rather ignore her in order to flirt with someone who never treated her negatively. The mage smiled as he held out his arms to grasp her forearms gently. Returning the attention while keeping her at a debatably polite distance.
Bobo quietly moved herself over to her regular bench. She was fine with ignoring Penelope and pass the time distracting herself with tea. This would be enough punishment and repentance for what happened. Though it would be a lot better if Penelope was able to dismiss her so she could return to her paperwork. Bobo sighed, leaning back with a full cup. Preferably she’d nap in order to prepare for the lack of sleep she’d inevitably get tonight as she kept from falling behind in her work.
“While you are as beautiful as the morning sun, I’d say that Princess Bobo is as the evening light.” Mage Maus’s voice caught her attention as he sat down beside Penelope. Much closer than what was considered a polite distance. She would not nap while Mage Maus was around in the royal’s garden.
“Oh must you bring her into this?” Penelope whined and rested her head against his shoulder. Bobo glared as the man dared run his fingers through Penelope’s long, silken hair.
“The King and Queen want you two to get along.” Maus reminded.
“We get along best when we’re nowhere near each other.” Penelope huffed, keeping herself from scowling. Instead pouting as to keep up her soft, perfect, princess image. Maus chuckled softly. He reached over and picked up a biscuit with his gloved hand. Bobo internally cringed, keeping herself from commenting on the hygiene of that. Above ground, they could be laxer about such things
“Ahh” Penelope practically sang out as she held open her mouth. Basically demanding that the mage feed his treat to her. Maus chuckled again as he followed her silent command. Bobo looked away, not wanting to risk seeing any of his dirty glove make contact with her mouth.
“Now Princess Penelope, you two will be working together in the future when you’re both Queens. Would it really be that bad to become friends before then?” Maus’s words caused Bobo to sling her glare at him again. The small smirk he sent her way only frustrated her.
He perfectly understood that their two kingdoms cultures were different enough that Princess and Queen didn’t mean the same for each other! She scowled, realizing this must be his way to tauntingly call her a child, to call her not a real ruler.
“…You make a fair point.” Penelope softly sighed as she withdrew from him. Bobo glanced at her, annoyed that Penelope would rather pretend to listen to him. The two Princesses stared at each other. Bobo scowled some more as a mischievous smile spread across Penelope’s face.
“Bobo, you become Queen when you’re married, right?” Penelope asked with a grin as she leaned forward.
“Yes, but need I remind yo-“ Bobo tried to reply just for Penelope to cut her off.
“You know, my parents may not even take you seriously once you reach adulthood. After all, they still treat me like a child.” Penelope pouted and fluttered her eyelashes at the mage still seated beside her. He responded by rubbing his hand over her back.
“Well you’re not an adult, you’re still a teen.” Bobo stated with slight confusion.
“I’m nineteen!”
“Yeah, nineteen. Not even twenty.” Bobo frowned.
“Twenty? Oh don’t tell me that in your backwards kingdom that you don’t hit adulthood upon turning eighteen.” Penelope whined as she threw her head back over the bench she’s seated upon.
“Wha… what? Why would you be an adult at eighteen? Teen is part of the number!” Bobo exasperatedly responded. She glanced at Maus, noticing his slightly wide eyes. Apparently he wasn’t aware of this difference either. Bobo sighed and slumped in her seat.
“Once you hit twenty is when you’re considered legally an adult in Mycelind.” Bobo monotonely stated. Penelope nearly blew a raspberry, catching herself as she recalled the mage’s presence.
“Well that just means two more years of my parents getting to justifily see you as a little child.” Penelope stated as she side-eyed Bobo.
“What is it that you’re trying to say?” Bobo huffed.
“As long as you remain single and with the title of Princess… there’s no need to take you all that seriously. Thus you need to get married as soon as possible to get the treatment my parents should be giving you.” Penelope slyly grinned. Bobo furrowed her brow. Getting married as soon as possible was ready part of her plans. As the only one with the blood right left to rule, it would be important to get some heirs as soon as she turned twenty. Though perhaps she should just trust that the backup measures in place would work.
Yet if she had kids, they’d be able to help shoulder the responsibility. Along with any and all worthy spouses she got. That’s…. Isn’t that a selfish way to think of it? But what if the backup measure never gets properly carried out? The Grand Mycorl was always too much of a softie… he could very well prevent a new ruler from being chosen if something happened to her. So having spouses and kids as soon as possible would be in the best interests of Mycelind, right? Yet why did it feel… selfish? Why did it have to feel off?
“Alright..?” Bobo prompted Penelope to continue.
“So how about you start attending some of my kingdom’s balls? Not only is this a generous offer from me, but it’ll help you start courting in preparation of choosing a king.” Penelope giggled.
“. . . You know I hate waltzing.” Bobo nearly whined. Penelope was making this all up as an excuse to torture her instead of actually trying to befriend her!
Mage Maus briefly stood up to move over onto Bobo’s bench. He scooted close to Bobo, but kept some distance at her glaring.
“I think Princess Penelope’s idea is great. You’ve attended before pretending to be her cousin. You’d be able to practice the ways of courting without the worry of possibly embarrassing yourself.” Maus smiled. Bobo raised a foot, pushing it against his thigh to force him further away.
“You’re purposely forgetting that things tend to be a bit different in my kingdom. There isn’t really nobles so learning to flirt or court however your nobles do won’t be of help to me.” Bobo scowled at the royal mage.
“Oh, I suppose so. Still, it wouldn’t hurt to gather the courage to flirt with others. If you really wouldn’t like to attend any balls, you could practice your ways on me.” Maus gave that slight teasing smirk again. Bobo jumped up to her feet, fed up with his presence.
“I much rather kiss Penelope than even pretend to flirt with you. I’m not going to go to any stupid balls.” Bobo walked away towards the gate. Enough time had passed that she could get away with peacefully dismissing herself. Penelope gave a disgusted face upon hearing Bobo’s words, which caused Maus to laugh. Penelope sulked at his laughter, telling him it wasn’t funny and that he should feel deeply insulted.

“Princess…” Bobo turned towards the door, frowning at seeing her caretaker, Beau’s, worried face. He walked over to where she sat at a desk, working away on a pile of paperwork. She paused what she was doing and turned to properly face him.
“I was summoned to the sister kingdom to receive a message for you.” Beau pulled an envelope out of one of his pockets. “I read it and I’m sure there’s been some sort of misunderstanding.”
“What does it say?” Bobo frowned, wondering if whatever it was, she could end up tossing away. She didn’t want to have to go back up to the surface anytime soon.
“It seems that the Queen believes you accepted the Princess’s invitation to attend her birthday ball. The message seems to mostly inform you that you are to show up four hours before the ball so servants there may get you ready… in a dress the Princess has commissioned for you. It doesn’t say when the ball is.” Beau answered.
“…Penelope shared that she wanted me to attend some balls, but she didn’t mention anything about her birthday. I can’t really respond and say that I won’t go… they wouldn’t accept that even if I were to say Penelope didn’t actually invite me. I’d assume the ball would be the day of her birthday… Could you please go ask for confirmation of the date and details? Also please give them my measurements. I wouldn’t put it past Penelope to guess or simply use the measurements they got when I was thirteen.”
(I forgot to put my signature, but on my defense I'm not done nor had in mine I would share this.)
I don't know what hairstyle to give 20+ year old Bobo. I have a vague idea on how her 20s are going to go, but past that I haven't thought too much on deciding designs since that's going to depend on how I have things happen in her 20s. So far I'm mostly thinking of her childhood.
I plan to do card art of Bobo for every type of card Twisted Wonderland has. The default art I will have voice-lines accompany it and the groovy art will have the vignette with it. This is also my introduction of Bobo as my Twisted Wonderland MC.
Since her birthday is basically at the start of the school year, she's already seventeen in her freshman year. I could have made it that she just turned sixteen, but I wanted that one extra year before she gets torn from her world. I won't introduce everything about her as I plan to cover a good amount in her own character intro post since she is an oc of mine. Just using her as a twst mc is for pure fun.
At a height of five foot and one inch, a.k.a. a hundred-fifty-five centimeters, she's the third shortest person amongst Twisted Wonderland's cast. The two shorter ones being Ortho and Grim.
Considering her studentship is shared with Grim, I do have to wonder if the mc can actually join a club. If anything I'm guessing mc doesn't have to join any club as Grim being part of one counts. Though if Bobo had the chance she would join Jade's Mountain Lover club. This would be because she loves to explore and getting to go hike on mountains would fulfill that. Also it would give her an excuse to leave the campus every now and then. She also would like to learn more about surface flora since she feels such information can be quite vital to survival.
I was considering maybe Alchemy would be her best subject simply because she does have the ability to learn and memorize what a bunch of different ingredients do. Though really considering how she is in her own canon world, P.E. is her best subject. Also looking through wikis I've realized Flight class is not really the same as P.E.. To me I don't think anyone with no magic could use a broom. Bobo will probably try to bargain with Coach Vargas to let her do physical training during flight classes, that is, if she can't just skip the class since really only Grim could participate and with them being one student it should still count towards their grade if it's only Grim in flight class.
She's used to surpressing her emotions and true feelings about things in order to do stuff for the greater good. So in a school full of people who seem to really believe in only doing what's good for themselves, she's quite the confusing being. Her motto is basically "noblesse oblige". She has grown serving others with limited time to do what she truly wants, even to the point that she gets very little sleep.
Bobo wants to go back home. She's torn between believing she needs to go back and between trusting that things will work out without her. While this could be a chance of freedom from her obligations in life, she can't quite handle how useless she feels here. To her, magic so easily outpowers anything she could possibly do. Here she doesn't even have her beloved hammer, a weapon she used to dominate attention and the battlefield back home.
Amongst my other ocs, Bobo fits in to follow the storyline the best. All my others would break the flow in varying degrees. Also thinking of how one of my ocs would fit in this world or that world is a fun way to build them. A bit funny considering an underground mushroom kingdom has basically nothing in common with Twisted Wonderland.
