I want to address the difference between Body Positivity and Body Toxicity. Here's a scenario:
A 500 pound person goes to the grocery store. He has choices. He can either get on a mobile scooter, or walk with a shopping cart. He chose neither. Instead, he chose something even better: walking while carrying a shopping basket.
He gets tired very quickly and stops to take breaks. He can either keep going after he's caught his breath, or give up and ask an employee for a mobile scooter. He chooses to keep going.
What he puts in his basket is up to him. He can either shop for vegetables and lean meats, or buy cookies and frozen pizzas. He decides to buy mostly the healthy stuff and one of those mini frozen pizzas. He wants to eat better while still getting to enjoy his favorites, just in small portions. He has no plan to eat the entire pizza, just a few bites and be done with it.
He is choosing lifestyle changes over dieting. He is not worried about what he looks like, he is worried about his health.
THIS is body positivity. If he made the other choices, then it would be body toxicity. He's not putting restrictions on his diet. He can still eat pizza, just a small amount. Especially at his size, he would really need to set a limit.
