Prabesh, PhD Student Hometown: Kathmandu, Nepal

What are you working on? I am trying to learn how one of the vertebrate, zebrafish, is capable to regenerate its brain effectively, but we humans are not capable of. I am investigating the molecular programs that zebrafish utilizes to replenish lost cells and cope with neurodegeneration.

Have you always wanted to be a scientist? As a child, i was really fond of Biology and Maths. I just followed my interest and now I'm here as a Biologist.

What is science for you? Science is an approach to learn and understand things better. It explains what happens, why it happens and how it happens. These are all curiosity amongst us and Science answers all these curiosity.

What is most important for you in life? To be happy and satisfied with whatever i do.

Why science is fun? Because its all about learning new things and discovering mysteries that nobody has ever solved.

Any advice for future students? Always do what makes you happy, and be satisfied with what you do. Always be willing to learn more.
