That's a very specific sound to link to that scene, that's interesting 🤔SO, BOM Headcanons(Ben and Tom):- headcanon sexuality: Ben= bi, Tom= gay- I know we've talked about who fell first for the other, and I still stand that it was a mutual "oh dang I love this man" moment when they're practice fighting privately in the dojo they broke into. However, I do think Ben was the first to crush on Tom when they first met in their training practice because the LOOKS HE GAVE HIM were that of awe and admiration. Tom probably gradually started to like him when he realized more and more how he related with him through similar backgrounds on being bullied and learning to control those bursts of negativity. - Something tells me these two would be the type to go on multiple dates, but aren't ever sure if they can call it that, let alone call each other boyfriends yet. BASICALLY I'm picturing Ben coming back from the movies, smiley and thoughts rewinding of that night and he's met with Sonia who is probably holding a glass of water, getting ready for bed, and she just smirks up at him knowingly. Ben gets somewhat defensive and goes "isn't it past your bedtime?" and Sonia replies back "isn't it past time you made your move on your boyfriend?" which would leave Ben flustered slightly before acting like the big brother figure he is and just outright trying to capture Sonia as she playfully screams out for Maria; only to have them both get that "mom" stare when Ben finally does catch her to mess up her hair and Maria stands in the doorway already counting to 3 to have them both go to sleep. Both of them march to their rooms while calling each other names, shoving each other and laughing. - Tom is the type of date that will want to pay for everything. Ben doesn't mind, but when he earns enough you bet he flings himself to the bill first and slams down his cash before Tom can get a word in. - If i could remake that scene where they're fighting in the dojo (which mind you was one of the most romantic trope coded moments in the dang movie) , I would just edit those last few moments they're together cause I like cliche moments. Like they still fight in the dark, they still reveal their pasts to each other, we still have that cute flirty moment where Ben manages to pin Tom down first cause he thinks he's being all sneaky about it; but the next moment when Tom pins Ben to the ground I'd add them laughing, having some fun, then they realize slowly their positions as they just stare at each other with Tom leaning in slowly about to kiss Ben but them getting interrupted by a passerby's car honk and both of them kinda jumping away, before Tom offers to help Ben up and drive him home.- Ben's favorite color is red, Tom's is green. I also wanna say Ben likes chocolate flavored ice cream (cookies and cream, rocky road, etc) and Tom loves pistachio. - Dorian acts like the best wingman for Ben, no doubt. Giving him tips to help set the mood, maybe giving him tips on how to dress, encouraging him that Tom indeed likes him back... like when I think of Dorian I think about that one meme: Dorian- "Hey Tom! doing anything this Friday? Tom- "no" Dorian - "Hey, Ben! doing anything this Friday?" Ben - "No???" Dorian- "Great! how about we all meet up at the local ice cream parlor at uhh lets say Friday at 5pm? ok? Oh, but I'll be busy that day, so looks like I won't go, but that is cool cause you guys can go alone instead, right? RIGHT! Ok bye~" Ben- "did he just???" Tom - "yes"- Tom really likes how patient and encouraging Ben is with kids and is happy to see how much better he works as an instructor when they have their Saturday taekwondo sessions at the park. - These two just help rebuild the dojo from the ground up and are so supportive of each other as they try to continue the morals they were taught while learning self defense. - Their first kiss happens when they go out for a walk to the park in the late evening. It's just another one of their "not dates" where they just hang out in their free time. They skip some stones, talk about everything and anything, Tom buys Ben a snack, they watch the sunset together on a bench, Ben rests his head on Tom's shoulder whispering how he hates how fast the time goes when they're together because he never wants to leave his side. Tom looks down at him, maybe puts a strand of his hair behind his ear as he says, "Sometimes I look at you and wonder how I came across someone as inspiring and beautiful as you... you've changed my life". That catches Ben's attention, he gets on eye level with him, Tom smiles and says a small "You mean the world to me". Ben is at a loss of words because yeah he loves him just as much but he doesn't know what to say/ how to express it so his reaction ends up having him lean in to kiss him. However, he startles himself as he reels back from the kiss, he's touching his lips all wide eyed and scared because of his past bullying trauma. Tom's eyes flutter open, going from total bliss to concern as he reassures him that what he did was alright. He wraps his arms around him and pecks his forehead as he hugs him tight. Ben just melts into his embrace. - I've talked about this before with you and we both agree on this, but I'm still adding it...when Ben finally is finally ready to propose not only is he a nervous wreck, but he will definitely eat a vinagerette salad unknowingly which would prompt Tom to ask if he was ok cause, he HATES vinegar flavored anything, and Ben would definitely just use that line you mentioned as he's fumbling with the ring box he had tucked away in his shirt pocket: "If... listen. I love you a lot. Like. So much. And if—if I wasn’t stuck in this chair right now... I’d. Id get on my knees and ask you for your hand. In marriage. And for your love...".... this is getting really long hahaha! I'm gonna stop it here for now. Edit: OH ONE MORE THING! Ben likes big spoonfuls because he is a little spoon when cuddling.
