To this one right here: I read on a Bond forum that Silva and Blofeld were probably bffs, so I had this idea for a meme xdd
(Yes, I had to make the same meme with both Bond and Q bc I thought its fitting idk.)
I hope they're good :))
Putting some Harry Saltzman on the Albert R. Broccoli I'm cooking. These are the fakest sounding names I've ever heard of.
"I said 'bring it back in one piece,' not 'bring back one piece'" God I love Q
Skyfall (2012) Dir. Sam Mendes
skyfall aligning bond with water/drowning/freezing and silva with fire/burning imagery is so brilliant, it says so much about both of them as characters. bond when confronted with trauma goes cold ("The night I told him his parents had died, he hid in here for two days… When he did come out, he wasn’t a boy anymore.") he drowns his emotions in drink or he freezes them out entirely to become the picture of "stiff upper lip" british professionalism. silva wears his pain like a performance, like a costumed mockery of the empire that ruined him he puts his wounds on display ("Look upon your work, mother.") he quite literally burns everything in his way, raging like a forest fire.
my love of spectre has gotten to the point where im defensive of it whenever anyone slags it off which is non stop because its a terrible movie but my instinct is "leave it alone you just dont understand it" which isnt even true i have no deep understanding of it that others cant see i dont have a good version of it in my head its just an objectively bad movie that i have a deep deep love for i cant explain it i just love my movie that sucks and i think everyone needs to stop being so mean even though it deserves it
